Placed at an intersection between two paths, the grave of Mark Firth is ornate, commanding and a grade II listed structure. A very famous name in Sheffield's industrial past, Mark Firth was a steel manufacturer and master cutler in 1867. For a year, he was mayor of the city, from 1874 to 75. In 1879, he opened Firth College, which is now the home of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Sheffield.
