Spuds & Berries
Description
Mr Vincent’s restaurant began trading alongside our farm-shop, Spuds and Berries, on 2nd November 2013. Our aim is to create quality dishes using local produce combined with
The restaurant is named after my Great Grandad who began our farming history in 1918. Our story adorns the restaurant wall and our menus; it forms the basis of our dining experience. We treat our customers as family, share our stories through blogs on our website and take the time to chat and laugh with them. The menu has been developed by Tom, Amy, Danny and myself to work in harmony with our shop; produce grown, harvested, prepared and consumed all within the same business enterprise. Our aim is for all dishes and desserts to be homemade on the premises. The ethos behind the business is a field to table philosophy. That’s why we don’t sell just pork; we sell ‘Anna’s Happy Trotters free range pork; the beef is home reared or locally sourced, the potatoes are dad’s and even the eggs come from our next door neighbour’s free range egg farm.
Tom our Head Chef is passionate about food and how it looks on the plate. Along with Danny, Sous Chef, Tom is developing new menus and experimenting with flavour combinations. Amy, Chef De-partie concentrates on creating amazing desserts and cakes. The team of chefs are all under 25, but that factor brings with it fresh ideas, enthusiasm and energy. Mr Vincent’s offers an extensive lunch time menu; sandwiches, starters/light bites, jacket potatoes, mid-day meals and homemade cakes and desserts. We open on an evening Friday and Saturdays offering a fine dining menu and of course traditional roasts on a Sunday. There is amble parking and we are disabled and child friendly. You will find a diverse group of people during lunchtimes; from young mums taking time out, couples on a leisurely lunch, through to business meetings and those with time constraints who want to grab a quality sandwich. On Friday and Saturday evenings the ambiance is more relaxed as couples, groups and families enjoy fine wines and fine dining. In the short while we have been open we have become incredibly popular; positioned at 6 out of 74 restaurants in the area on tripadvisor we are still learning and still growing, but feel we have added something special to the community.
Booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

Absolutely smashing breakfast, definitely one of my top places to go. In my opinion very good value, and although it looks a bit pretentious with the the layout (my pet peeve is beans in a ramekin!), the team do get it right. Some places really don't! They even serve Stokes sauces, which is like HP/Heinz on steroids. Can't fault a place that knows their sauce!
This restaurant is wonderful on the way going to York. There is dogs playing around at the time I visited. A lot of packing lot. The foods is very good.
Great farm shop, lovely food in the restaurant, friendly staff and if you are lucky enough to encounter the owner, Ross, he has the best sense of humour ever! Cannot recommend the place highly enough. Excellent.
Expensive.......Longley farm Jersey Butter £3.99, I paid £2.60, that's a massive hike in the price. Meat at the butcher looked very nice, pork chops were about 3 inches thick but I didn't dare ask how much a couple of them would be. 🤔
Just had the steak and mushroom pie topped with a sheet of dumplings, absolutely gorgeous! Home made and lovely steak so impressed. This as well as the homemade lasagne, not worth trying to cook it myself!!
