The Butchers Arms

We visited a few years ago when there were limited opening times and food service but had such a wonderful meal we thought we'd return. We had Sunday lunch, then booked for the next 2 nights of our stay. Wonderful food, atmosphere, and staff. The young ladies who were working every day were amazing, so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We highly recommend you pop in as you'll love it and will definitely return. Great value for money and good portion sizes. Roaring fires, which are very much needed as we always seem to stay when there's wind and rain!

Had dinner here at around 6pm on a rainy Thursday in September. Did not book and was seated straight away in the dog friendly area as we had our Ruby with us. My wife had the sea bass and I opted for the pie of the day which was mince. For pudding we both had the biscoff cheesecake. All of the food was good, the service prompt and very friendly. I would highly recommend trying the Butchers Arms if staying in the area. The only downside is potentially finding a suitable parking spot on the street as the pub car park has limited spaces.

Amazing food. Had mixed grill and it was the best! Nice pint as well! Great staff. Will be back!

The best meal I've ever had. We both chose the steak and it was cooked exactly how we ordered. Plenty of peppercorn sauce (no skimping here). Even the side salad was delicious! We paired it with the red malbec which was excellent.

Fantastically friendly lunchtime service, food excellent with large portions and great choice. Good beers on tap. Pub was very nicely decorated, clean and tidy and well maintained. Would definitely return and dog friendly too. Music good but ever so slightly too loud otherwise perfect stop after a lovely walk.
