Description

The historic city of York is the second most visited city in England. Its incredible architecture, wealth of independent shops and restaurants and world-famous tourist attractions make it the base for hundreds of thousands of self-catering holidays each year.

York Conferences offer self-catering accommodation at Halifax College for groups of six to twelve guests. Bedrooms are single occupancy with a hand basin in each room and use of shared bathroom facilities. En suite rooms with disabled access are available on request. Secure bicycle storage is also available at the college.

Bed linen is available to collect from reception on your arrival and will need to be returned on departure. Towels are not included, so please remember to bring your own bath and hand towels.

A fully equipped self-catering kitchen is available which includes oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Also included; cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and washing equipment including vacuum cleaner. Please remember to bring your own tea towels, kitchen towels and dishcloths.

Holidaymakers benefit from the college’s proximity to local amenities and public transport. The college is only a few minutes’ walk away from the village of Heslington and its many pubs, shops and post office. In addition, a ten-minute walk will take you right to the centre of the University of York campus, with facilities including a supermarket, a newsagent, a bank and a bookstore. With frequent, fast buses to the city centre and railway station, you’ll easily be able to visit York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, York’s Chocolate story and the dozens of other attractions that York has to offer.
