Hessle Library & Customer Services

I come here frequently with friends, it is a nice place and has a relatively good collection of books, as well as a computer suite. Staff are very friendly and there are community events often. Would recommend as a place for new people in town to go to find friends and read.

Great open space to the Hessle and wider community. I live the fact they give out 2 free caddy liners per household as in the current day it is needed. But no toilets on site is quite annoying as I think there should be as longer clubs take place.

My partner was in the Library and was informed there are no public toilets or changing facilitys onsite to change a child's nappy. The responce by the staff to my partner when asked why "well thats just the way it is" I find disrespectful and out of touch for the needs of its visitors.

Staff are very friendly. Always plenty to do there with young children

A small community type library with a few computers for use, and printer/copier, a fare range of books, both adults and children's, also a small children's play area. In the same building they offer an impressive range of services such as Adult book club, knit and natter, trace your family history, story time for pre school children, even code learning for children wanting to know about computer language. Large print books are available and although seemingly quaint today, cd's and dvd's as well. The building is centrally located in Hessle and is fairly modern, I'm not sure about toilet facilities being available likewise disabled toilet facilities, a phone call should put your mind at rest. There is a quiet reading area but bare in mind that is not a separate room from the rest of the library, as seems to be the case these days there is a website.
