A welcome with a grimace, good atmosphere in the bar but in need of some tlc. You can get over aesthetically bad bits but when you’re un-welcomed at the bar you really feel like taking your business elsewhere, which is exactly what we did. Some staff customer service training is in order.
I was there a couple of weeks ago. New landlady had just started. Great atmosphere and very friendly. There was an afternoon of a Quiz, card bingo and play your cards right, it was excellent. Good fun and everyone made us welcome. Highly recommend you give it a go! No food, it’s a good old fashioned pub!

Popped into The Admiral for a quick drink with a friend on Saturday lunch. The bar seemd busy but the barmaid Jane was very friendly and smiley. Great service!
