Had Boxing Day meal here, really lovely setting and beautiful views! As there were so many of us we had to pre order a couple of weeks prior. When the food started coming out I noticed some of the orders seemed off but it was nothing big. And then we got 2 of one dish and missed a vegan burger. Alerted staff and was told I'd sent the wrong info in. I showed them the pre order email which was correct and there was no apology but just told it will be a wait for the other burger. Again fine, these things happen. Then we had nobody ask how our meal was and nobody ask about dessert. There were lots of empty tables so they weren't overrun. We went to the bar to order some dessert and some got theirs delivered quickly and other were waiting ages until we finally got up and asked at the bar again and they brought the last bits out. Asked for the bill, someone dropped it on the table and never returned so we again went to the bar to pay. Never experienced anything like it. At approx £17 for a main meal in Hull I didn't expect such low customer service. The stars are for the view and tbf the food was good (not amazing) but the experience all felt really uncomfortable.

We were a bit sceptical visiting here after reading a few reviews regarding poor service and in some cases the bad attitude of the management but we took a bit of a gamble and we were happily rewarded. We got served as soon as we went to the bar and our food order was served at our outside table in less than 10 minutes. Food was hot, well presented and very nice. A definite againer when we are next in the area. I will add that there was about 30 other guests there at our time of visiting so the staff didn't just have us to focus on.

We stopped here for some lunch on 17/08/25. The place looked nice and the outdoor seating are was pleasant with great views. I ordered a carvery, and everything looked and tasted like it had been sat there for hours and microwaved 10 times over. I have never sent a dinner back, but this was awful. I asked for them to replace it with scampi and chips. The scampi was nice, but the chips were shriveled but solid inside, and I couldn't eat it. Awful food and high prices. And sadly, every staff member look like they couldn't be bothered to smile. It was a rather depressing meal.

Rude customer service. was told “im not sure whats happened the guy making your coffee just seemed to walk off” The wrong syrup was used in one of the coffees. Only positive was that the iced coffees were somewhat good. no where near coffee at a costa but cant really complain it is a pub.

Stopped here after a walk round Hessle country park. Location is pretty good, great view of the Humber bridge and estuary, but that's about it. Outside tables are nice next to the water. But be warned, at low tide it stinks of rotten seaweed. The bar is nice, the food is terrible. My wife ordered the carvery, the potatoes, parsnips and carrots were all rock hard and inedible. Like they've been prepared the day before and them microwaved to death. My daughter ordered the kids tagliatelle, no flavour, watery sauce and rubbery pasta. There was one staff member was great (female) the rest looked like they'd lost the will to live. We won't be going back.
