Beverley Budget Inn

No staff, you text for a door code. Rooms are equipped with microwave, kettle and fridge (this was not turned on in my room and I didnt realise, so check if you put things in it). This and the location near the centre of Beverley are why it gets 3 stars. Otherwise it is very very budget - usually fine, you get what you pay for, but it was dirty. Weird drips/stains on walls, dirty carpets, stranger's hairball on the shower wall. (Can prove it's not mine... i have pink hair). So definitely attention needed.

This is a hard review to write as there are many negatives about this place, but there were a couple positives as well. I'll start with the good... The location of this place was perfect, only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and situated right next to Beverley Minster... Free parking via a permit issued by the host and parking is just across the road.. the host was great at communicating and giving clear instructions via text message on how to access the property... The price of the stay was cheap for 2 nights.. This leads me on to the negatives and as to why the price was so cheap, because you definitely get what you pay for!... The smell on entering the property was disgusting, it smelled of stale cigarettes and weed.. the whole building inside looked tired and run down and in need of a deep clean.. We stayed in the family bedroom, and although tidy, it definitely wasn't clean. The carpet was stained and old, the furniture wobbly and creaky, the sheets however, were clean. The bathroom had broken tiles, a broken toilet seat, a broken shower head holder, paint bubbling and peeling on the walls and ceiling, and the extractor fan sounded like a swarm of bees when turning it on... The water was hot though and the pressure wasn't too bad... I could probably go on but I will leave it at that and let you decide. I would only recommend this place if absolutely desperate and on a very tight budget.. I certainly will not be booking again!

We had a large double room which was brilliant. Comfy bed , good WiFi, clean and spacious. Great location & easy parking on the street. Excellent communication by the owners regarding getting access etc. Yes some of the decoration is tatty , but for 1 night with easy walk in to Beverley it cannot be faulted. Will definitely stay here again.

The owner is absolutely amazing. No lift in the hotel so LOTS of stairs. The bed in room 9(top of house)was NOT comfy and it was really hot. HOWEVER, the owner was amazing and provided a fan and due to my knees, was kind enough to move me to a lower floor room which was amazing.

Cheap not cheerful. Cold room. Plumbing abysmal. Stayed in better youth hostels for less money. Location good if you enjoy Minster chimes and traffic all night
