Ordered 3 fish and chips on a busy Saturday night with a full shop of people and people waiting to get in . Chips if im honest was a portion too feed 2 people , now the fish was a very good size for what we paid (Β£26 and change)and quality ?? I would rate it above 10 out of 10 . This is absolutly one of the top fish and chip shops in york.
First impressions are everything for me and I gotta say that it really wasn't good here! We ordered through Just eat and were all really looking forward to this meal given how hungry we all were. We ordered 2 fish and chips with curry sauce sides. 2 large battered sausages, a portion of large chips, and 2 large mushy peas. The meal cost nearly Β£45. We were sent only 1 of the 2 sausages, and 1 of the 2 peas. To make matters worse the one sausage we did receive was inside the large chips.... If we had wanted a sausage and chips meal we would have ordered that. My mother is a vegetarian so having a sausage in with her chips is not acceptable, and not what we ordered. I then also had to go without my peas as my mother's meal would have been totally tragic as just a portion of chips without her peas. So that's me as the payer without the sausage and peas I'd ordered for myself. The receipt that came with our food was correct so why wasn't the order?It's not hard to check the food as you're bagging it up. You actually ruined my tea, and my mother had to eat chips that had been sat with a sausage. You need to do better.
Outstanding quality fish and chips whenever we've been here, great service and friendly staff. Worth the drive across York for us
Spot on everytime!! I get the cod and chips and drown the nuggets with vinegar and sprinkle that salt on top. Great staff, the lot of them are on form every time! Always chuck in plenty of chips enough for the dogs leftovers. I get home and bang on a big dollop of ketchup only because I forgot to order mushy peas. Best fish n chip shop in town. Recommend to any woman, man, cat, dog or family of chinchillas
Used to be very good quality fish and chips. Sadly the quality and quantity both have gone down now.
