Really enjoyed my meal here. I had the chorizo croquettes, the steak burger, and the brownie with custard. Cannot fault the politeness of the staff. I didn’t think 3 courses for £31 was too bad these days. Only marking down because I thought it was quite slow considering how quiet it was, and because the restaurant was pretty cold in my opinion.

Wow wow wow the food was amazing. I wasn’t expecting how good it was tbh! The staff were super friendly and attentive. I really recommend the pan fried chicken breast, and the chocolate fondant is one of the best I’ve had in a while!!!! I would come again if i was local.

My husband and I went in on a Saturday evening about 7pm, it was not busy but they left us standing there for about 10 minutes before they noticed us, we nearly walked out. When we finally got noticed, they told us to sit anywhere, so we chose the table. Service got better once we got seated and we were about to order and got food pretty soon. I had a small pasta dish which was ok but not worth the price it was and my husband got the steak burger which was huge and he said delicious. We got out bill and paid and was able to leave. Not a terrible experience except for the ridiculous wait when we first got there.

Food was tasty enough but not much value for money. The mains are like kids portions and very expensive for their size. The food service was very slow considering that it wasn't actually that busy, but the waiting staff were all very friendly and polite. Steaks are around £24-£28 (plus extras for sides and sauces), £16.50 for a (small) pasta dish seemed expensive. There are many nicer places in York which offer better value.

Only had dinner and drinks here so I can't comment on the room. Food was excellent and well presented. Some staff a bit young and inexperienced but we all need to start somewhere so all in all nice place to eat and relax with a drink in the armchairs in the lounges. Good atmosphere.
