At first thought they were great and accommodating but quickly turned south! Spoke down to me and talked over me whenever I tried explaining the problem, told me I'd done stuff wrong when trying to fix it ourselves (mechanics in the family so was educated on what we were doing) and that I was stupid, then upon testing himself realised I'd actually done the right thing!! No apologies for being wrong, for the arsey responses, or for arguing with both me and my partner multiple times over various things that had nothing to do with the actual problem of the car. Threw a strop when I asked questions and then told me he was sick of working on the car after only having it a couple hours. In the end he couldn't even figure out the problem and I sorted it out myself, but unfortunately had to pay for a waste of time. Avoid if ur a new/young driver or woman!! Edit: just confirming to people stopping by that this is in fact "the right garage" and I stand by what I said. I refuse to be spoken down to and shoved off. I can imagine the owner doesn't remember because he spent more time speaking over me than helping. I have a receipt to prove my business here too abyway so. Unless the garage wants to offer a refund or at least an apology I'm leaving this review up :)

This is a fantastic garage, they service and mot and repair any problems every year , they are so reasonable and friendly, I would definitely recommend, I will always use them, they make life so much easier for customers.

I have been to some garages in my time .BUT NOW I HAVE FOUND THE BEST honestly steve and there team are 100 percent genuine and super friendly amazing what you did to get my car through MOT was no rush job showed me all work Thay did and are amazing on price you will definitely not go wrong hear so you don't get ripped off

My nephew, who resides in York, knows little about cars, and was stuck on the A64 towards York. The front left brake on his Golf Mk7 Tdi had seized and was smoking. He was awaiting to be recovered by RAC and was about to have the car despatched to Halfords. I stopped him because the potential cost of replacement brake discs and pads along with a possibly a seized caliper, would have been an exorbitant amount. I would have repaired it for him; I’m capable of basic mechanical repairs, but alas I’m based in Birmingham. However, not wanting him to pay through the nose, I quickly checked Google and saw Steve’s reviews. l called him and he’s such a jovial fellow, and at the drop of a hat Steve received the vehicle. He quickly diagnosed the fault on both front brakes; slider pins needed cleaning greasing and ensured both calliper's pistons pulsed and retracted and were working correctly. He replaced both front discs and pads too because the left disc and pads were cooked. Total job cost was £225 inc parts. He’s a diamond bloke and honest, I couldn’t recommend him enough ! Next time I’m up in York I’ll be sure to take Steve out for a bevvy or spot of lunch as a thank you 🙏 for looking after my nephew !!! Steve you got custom for life from my family up there !!!

Car Key would not turn, steering lock wouldn't budge. They closed at 17:30, yet they allowed me to tow car to their garage even after hours and had it fixed the next day. I was extremely grateful. Would recommend, good price and very friendly.
