White Cross Rehabilitation Hospital

My husband was transferred to White Cross Court from the Stroke Unit YDH in February 2024 and spent just over 2 weeks as an inpatient. His treatment at White Cross was very good and he progressed really well and was eventually discharged home after 15 days. All the day staff were brilliant and the food and service was excellent. Once he got home he did all the exercises he was recommended and made brilliant progress. Unfortnately at the end of July 2024 he got shingles and this proved to be a major set back for him and he hasnt picked up since due to partially collapsed lung and paralyzed right diaphragm. Pete wanted to thank White Cross for all their help and encouragement over the weeks he was an inpatient and he will always remember the staff who helped him along the way. Why has my mum been sedated into the next planet when we are trying to rehabilitate her ? Last week we’re having conversations. She used the phone. This week she is Jack Nicholson at the end of One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest. We don’t have time in the rehab diary for this. Thankyou for the work so far. But this currently unacceptable. Update from this: she never became verbal again, this sedation caused dehydration. And she ultimately was sent on a downward spiral And died. I think this air drop of anti-depressant that was then not monitored for a week, if not killed my mum outright, contributed month reversal of rehab, which Mum did not have the strength to recover. When we had the audacity to question after a couple of days why she had been given this drug, Dr Luke told us it was unacceptable to disturb his cake and made us wait another 5 days before he was ready to discuss this lethal Prescription. We all need cake. But we need to know when someone’s life is more important then your cake break. Would not recommend this centre

My husband did not get the care he needed some of the staff was good and some was not good they didn't have time for some people they seam to me they was taking care of one to one people more physio people was wonderful help my husband to get home and when he came home without any plan in place for is care they was physio in place

It was an OK place but some of the staff didn't have the time it seemed there wasn't enough staff but some staff wer lovely not a very good place for rehabilitation

Poor care, staff didnt really seem that bothered. Certain few staff members where lovely.
