Having popped into the Runswick Bay Hotel for a drink on Christmas Day 2024, we said to ourselves, “One day we’ll come back.” And we did! What a fantastic stay my wife and I had. We arrived early and enjoyed a beautiful walk along the Cleveland Way coastal path to Goldsborough, looping back via Kettleness along the old railway line, which brought us out about half a mile from the hotel. On checking in, we were greeted warmly by the young man at reception. We decided to switch our dinner reservation to the hotel restaurant rather than the Royal — we didn’t quite fancy tackling the hill that evening! 🤣 Dinner was superb. I had the Whitebait followed by the pan-fried sea bass — perfectly fresh and delicious. My wife chose the Moules Marinière and also the sea bass, both excellent. Service from the young lady in the restaurant was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming — even Ted gave his approval! Our night’s sleep was peaceful and quiet, and the room and bed were wonderfully comfortable. We’d highly recommend the Runswick Bay Hotel — whether for a relaxing stay or simply a drink while out walking.

Have just returned from a three night stay here with my dog 🐾🐾. What an absolutely brilliant place to stay! All the staff were a credit to the place and went out of their way to welcome my dog. The guy on bar duty/meal orders remembered my name, my drink and had time for everyone even though it was busy. The room was spacious and clean. There were no ‘rules’ about what my dog was not allowed to do. The inclusive breakfast was huge and so tasty - mushrooms out of this world (I don’t know how you do them but they are up there with the best). I ate there for all three evenings and the food is delicious - I don’t eat meat but do eat fish and was really struggling to pick each night as there was so much choice. Had the seafood stew on my last night - Omg I saved the best til last! Excellent central base for exploring North Yorkshire whether it’s the coast or the moors it’s all on the doorstep. I will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff who made it a fantastic stay.

Didn't stay in the hotel, but visited for a meal. Lovely bar and fantastic staff, very attentive and helpful. Incredible food! Bar has a great atmosphere and is very dog friendly, although we left our boy sleeping whilst we visited as he is still a little young! Meeting Ted was an added bonus! Very highly recommend. Everything perfect. Thank you.

We've just returned from 2 nights in this hotel. I was lovely. The rooms are spotless. The food is amazing and not expensive. The front of house Ryan was extremely welcoming, efficient and totally on top of his job. In fact the whole staff were brilliant and approachable when required. The cleaner does an amazing job and the rooms are lovely.

Cannot comment on the accommodation as only had a meal. Absolutely perfect steak and ale pie. Mouth watering pastry and fantastic, perfectly cooked steak. Service exceptional and friendly. At last have found good pub food in North Yorkshire! Oh, and extremely dog friendly.
