A great, unspoilt proper pub full of charm and character. Log fire, cosy rooms, and lots of wood throughout make it a really welcoming place to settle in. There are nine cask beers brewed by them, plus a whole host of other quality ales to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Tucked down a little alleyway just off the main centre of Holmfirth, there’s plenty of competition nearby, but this place really stands out for its atmosphere and authenticity. A reminder of why it’s so important to support local pubs and local quality beers.

A warning of being mindful when using the pub facilities (the Nook Brewhouse) Visited the pub on 18/09/2025 for a friends birthday and residue/cleaning products ruined my new trousers from using the toilets At the time the staff member apologised profusely, took liability and gave me an email to get it in writing and to send the link to the trousers to be reimbursed, in retrospect I was too nice to accept that on face value. Management withdrew responsibility as soon as it was in writing regardless of my time stamps within cctv and photographs Disgraceful customer service but; apparently as Claire and her representatives take no responsibility for destroying my property, inadvertently hinting I’m lying over email yet, offered me a goodwill £10 voucher to spend at the venue on the future as I am ‘valued’. Is it goodwill to admit fault then pretend your cleaner didn’t leave the toilets drenched in abrasive chemicals.

A real gem! Great unspoilt multi-roomed pub with nine of their own ales on the bar from cask. Friendly and helpful bar staff. Dog friendly in bar. Slightly tucked away but in the centre of town.

Cracking location almost opposite the picturedrome, proper old fashioned pub, good pricing, warm pork scratchings and really friendly locals.
