Been here twice now whilst on holiday in Holmfirth and on both occasions we had excellent meals. First time we sat downstairs, this last visit we chose to eat upstairs in the restaurant. Very attentive and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Portion sizes are excellent, my husband struggled to finish his main meal which is unheard of. Highly recommended, will definitely return.

Thought we would give the Wednesday special £45 for 2 sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine a try.In all honesty I had to talk the hubby into it as it’s not really his thing. Well worth it! The steak was a good size we both ordered medium/rare and it was cooked perfectly. Also left to rest so my plate was not swimming in “blood” like a lot of places. We ordered fries rather than the chips, they came seasoned with what seemed to be rosemary salt. Neither me nor the hubby are that bothered over fries normally but we ate the lot!! We ordered a side of greens and again cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The mushroom sauce was delicious and you got plenty of it. The house red was nice, all in all really enjoyed it. Staff were friendly, helpful and prompt with service. I would come back again, wish I had taken some photos but it looked so good we tucked straight in

Visited mid-afternoon so it was quiet and wasn’t expecting chef to be ready for action but service was good and food excellent. I had a nice pint of Camden Brewery pale ale and a burger. Hand cut chips were really nice. First visit but would come again and try one of steaks which looked top notch.

Visited for the first time on Thursday and the food was excellent! We had The British blue burgers, it was the best burger I've eaten 😋 Great atmosphere ( we sat downstairs ) lovely staff too. Looking forward to our next visit.
