Great pub ,good choice of drinks and cask ales ,So friendly, although we didn't eat ,the food looked great ,and such a lovely town to visit
We booked the function room at the tap house for the day for a hen do and it was fantastic. Montanna and team could not do enough for us, the food and the service were amazing and they all went above an beyond to look after us. Communication was great and a everyone had a fantastic day, thanks everyone at the tap house xxx
Really good food, run by a really nice guy. Small mess up with our drinks order but it was easy sorted. Really nice young lad served us, please pass on our compliments as it really makes a difference to the atmosphere. I am instantly put off if I feel unwelcome. As I said great food, we had the ribs special, pork belly, prawns and patas bravas, much better than I have had in authentic tapas places which was a lovely surprise for a lovely little town. Mojitos are banging.
Rude. I rang up requesting for a particular member of staff, rather than giving me the correct information, i was told that it was simply too late to be ringing up. i am very disappointed with the way the woman on the phone went, i do not appreciate being talked to like a complete fool. i understand it is a busy time of year, for all of us, but simply a genuine, sincere person would be great considering tne closing hours.
We arrived around 5pm on Sunday 16/6 and were ignored by the man behind the bar, we tried to make eye contact to say hello but there was nothing from him, it was like we didn't exist and there was only 1 other table there (a table of 3 for Fathers Day). The guy left the bar and went into the kitchen, we kept looking as there was a glass window in the door and could see him there but we were ignored for 5 minutes so we left. A real shame as we would have spent a lot on food and drinks and had highlighted Tap House as a point to visit but on reflection, only 3 people there on Fathers Day at 5pm when most others that we passed in the town were very busy (including the restaurant next door Lou and Joes Burger). It was our first stop in Holmfirth and thank goodness our other experiences were positive. Based on our own experience we wouldn't recommend, it doesn't take any effort to acknowledge your customers and just say 'Hi, sorry I will be with you in a minute' but in this instance, we were just ignored, we were not important enough to say hello. We experienced a completely different experience everywhere else that we tried in the wonderful town of Holmfirth so in a way, I feel sorry for the owners as in this instance, their own staff are letting them down.
