What a lovely Chippy shop this one is. They have a large seating area, decent parking space & view from the restaurant is fantastic. Most importantly the food is yummy. We had a small fish & chips weekday meal served with a beverage which was reasonably priced and delicious. The outer layer crispy & fish was soft. Making it a perfect meal for me.
We had a takeaway small fish and chips on the way back from a walk in the hills. We thought we had the best chippy near us but this was outstanding. Beautifully cooked fish (crispy light batter with moist tender fish inside) and chips cooked slightly longer than usual which is my preference. The photo says it all.
No atmosphere. Service is so slow. I have never seen staff moving so slow in my life but that could be down to the lack of atmosphere. Ordered 2 simple scallop buttys. Nothing ready in the shop bar 1 sausage a mountain of scraps. Waited 15mins scallops ready. Took 3 bits. Rock solid in the middle. Not cooked. Couldnt eat. Rank
We’re finally giving up. It’s been going downhill for a few years and tonight was the last straw for us… food was mediocre and overpriced, service was worse than slow and I’m pretty certain lacking any training (see pic for example, food left on table while pudding delivered!) - you might ask maybe they were busy, no, 2 staff and 4 occupied tables. So disappointing, but on the plus side, we’ll save £90 each time we don’t go anymore.
Gf fish was terrible the first one served I sent back as it was burned and there was hardly any batter on it. Second one came out and that was burned the batter had fallen off the fish and for the price paid it’s the worst I have ever had from a chip shop. I didn’t have the energy to send the second one back so I accepted it. Chips were nice but avoid the fish. Portion was supposed to be large see photo for reference.
