This is by far the worst surgery I have ever been registered with. No one ever answers the phone no matter what time of day you call so good luck trying to get help with or querying anything at all. Couldn't get an appointment before the surgery became solely online but now it is literally impossible to get one or even speak to a human being about anything at all which I fear will be putting people's life's & health at risk. Every single time you try to request anything at all online it tells you that you can't because they are at maximum capacity, so we've now gone from scrambling to call at 8am on the dot to try & get an appointment to having to wake up at 6.30am & trying to navigate an impossible online system that is designed to make it as difficult as possible to request anything at all. All this is extremely worrying for people who have serious or complicated health issues that cannot be put off or ignored. I have been left with no other choice at this point but to go join another surgery out of area as my health is now suffering as a result of not being able to contact anyone about anything at this one. The stress that trying to deal with this surgery has caused me is unbelievable & I only wished that I would of left sooner. I also want to add that the reception staff will try to convince you that all gp practices will be doing the same thing & transfering to solely online services but I have done my research & this is just simply not true... Quote "No, GP surgeries will not be solely online. While the NHS is expanding and modernising its digital services, including a recent mandate for all GP practices in England to offer online appointment requests during core hours, patients retain the option to book appointments over the phone or in person". I definitely would not recommend joining this surgery & genuinely believe that joining literally any other would be better than this one.
The anima form is hard to find, times you out before you can complete it and asks too many irrelevant questions. The automated phone message also incorrectly states that you MUST fill out an anima form for appointments. This was an extra requirement from the govt an as an option for patients and was not to be made mandatory for patients. Patients seem to require a local reddit group to figure out how to book appointments now. Other than that they've always been great.
Spoke to a lady called Miella she was really good at communicating and very reassuring and seemed to have time for me. I understand it’s hard to get through to the Drs but I it’s the government’s fault. Staff seem really nice and helpful.
Have used the new online system twice now and found it to be very effective. I was given an appointment in both cases within 24 hours. Reception staff are always polite and helpful.
Online system at capacity, called up and spent 50mins on hold to be told you have to put “an existing condition” instead to circumnavigate the warning message….. If it takes so long to change this system then put a big banner on each page on your website to explain this! Absolutely ridiculous.
