Food and service was great. Slight bugbear was when it came to paying the bill staff were too busy to bring us the bill and the bar was absolutely carnage and couldn't get anywhere near the bar tried 3 times over 20 minutes. Luckily another member of staff got us sorted. Can't drop a star for that because I understand places get busy and would never begrudge a business doing well. Well done guys food was amazing.
We are soon moving to the area (just around the corner in fact) so have recently tried food on 3 occasions and not been disappointed in the slightest. Steak night on a wednesday was such good value. The sunday lunch was just what the doctor ordered and the small plates on a lunch time soo good!!! Can't wait to get moved!!!
Very nice place. Good atmosphere and helpful staff. Really good food and a decent range of dishes. The belly pork was a big piece for a starter, the burger was very tasty, proper bacon and crispy onions.
The best Sunday dinner you will find! Tender meat served with homemade Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes, mash & gravy. Selection of steamed veg and a plate of the most wonderful roasted veg arrive separately. All the staff are friendly, work hard and nothing is too much trouble. Quick service too…You will not be disappointed!
Excellent service and food, good beer.. was passing through Howden looking for a place to late lunch (most places close between 2 & 5pm), found Bishops Bistro.. had camembert to start which was delicious and sticky salmon noodles for main, which were cooked to perfection. Blondie for dessert (white choc brownie) - again delicious and all made fresh in house. Would highly recommend, reasonably priced considering the quality of food.
