Good pub food at a reasonable price,beer well kept.
I had a great stay here and it’s excellent value for money. Tea & coffee with kettle, en-suite and towels provided. I’d asked for a quiet room and I was given the quietest possible. I stayed on a Saturday night and there was a wedding and band playing in the pub. I completely anticipated noise being that it’s a room above a pub so I just used ear plugs and had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed. The staff were very friendly, easy & secure access, check in and checkout very easy. I’d recommend anyone to stay here.
So glad I found this little gem will definitely be our go to for a weekend away. Lovely pub, clean rooms, comfy bed, ample parking, great food, friendly staff and locals. Howden Town is very picturesque, lovely to walk around the minster and park. Ideally situated for York and the coast
Friendly pub where we managed to get something to eat after regular lunchtime. We had no luck anywhere else in Howden. Couple of real ales on offer as well.
It was a good location but it is still a pub at the end of the day so I wouldn't expect a nice early rest on a Saturday, I would make sure you try to a room as far back as possible - the shower was broken but on short notice it did the job somewhat, I don't think I'd stay again unless I had no other choice but that isn't the fault of the pub, it is just a pub inn that has loud music and people and sometimes live music (which we had the night we stayed) and it would be fine if you planned to be out until midnight and just needed somewhere to sleep after
