I came here a few months ago and didn’t have a great experience. First, I ordered a coffee and the velvet cake. The coffee was okay, but the cake was far too sweet. When the waitress brought it over, her fingers were actually touching the cake, which I found quite off-putting. I had to ask for it to be changed ��� it just didn’t feel hygienic at all. Another issue was the heating system. It was so loud I could hardly bear it. And as if that wasn’t enough, the music was also turned up really high. On top of that, I could even hear the sound from a show the staff were watching behind the counter – it was just too much noise altogether. Eventually, they turned down the heating and the music, but then it got too cold inside. Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant experience for me. The place itself is nicely decorated, but a lot needs to be improved when it comes to the atmosphere and the service

We recently hosted our Henna Mingle event at A Sweet Affair in Huddersfield, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. From start to finish, Jas and the team provided an exceptional level of personal service that truly made the day special. Every detail was taken care of with such care and attention—smooth running, no stress, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere for every single guest. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and their warm hospitality didn’t go unnoticed. Our attendees felt completely at ease and loved the cosy, elegant setting which complemented the vibe of our henna event beautifully. It’s rare to find a venue that not only meets expectations but exceeds them—and A Sweet Affair absolutely did. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a space that offers both charm and top-notch service.

☕ A Sweet Affair – A Truly Lovely Café Experience 🍓🍰 We were greeted with a warm welcome by the owner, who quickly had us seated — such friendly service right from the start! We ordered our drinks and couldn’t resist treating ourselves to a cheeky dessert later on. There was a lovely Mums and Tots session happening at the time, and we were kindly invited to let our little ones join in — such a thoughtful touch that made the visit extra special. The café itself is beautifully decorated, full of positive affirmations and a cheerful, uplifting vibe. We tried the Biscoff S’mores Hot Chocolate (without marshmallows), the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate, and a Flat White — all were absolutely delicious! But the highlight had to be the filled croissant — packed with ice cream, strawberries, nuts, and caramel. It was divine — an easy 10/10! After a busy day out, it was lovely to relax in such a cosy space, and the team were kind enough to let us wash up and freshen our hands, which we really appreciated. A Sweet Affair truly lives up to its name — warm, welcoming, and full of charm. We’ll definitely be back to try more from their tempting menu! 💕

Lovely place and lovely helpful staff! I had the egg mayonnaise toasted sandwich and the Caramel and pistachio latte which were both amazing. One of the ladies made an extra latte by mistake so as I was leaving she gave me a takeaway one for free :) The decor is beautiful and is is such a cute place to go as you hop off the train. There is a good selection of food as well. I definitely recommend. Thank you ☺️

I normally go to Leeds for a good coffee. But, I was surprised to learn this coffee shop sells one of my favourite beans, which is from North Star. Perfect coffee, put it that way. With regard to the food, I've not got the biggest sweet tooth, but the sweet treats that are offered at this shop are something else. I think it's because they are literally fresh! I hate when you into the regular chain coffee shops, and the cakes have been sat there for a month! Keep it up. Will be back for my regular; a lovely vanilla latte.
