Had to pop in and try Bobby's Salt and Pepper Chips on Friday in The Packhorse. I work in Ossett, and occasionally pop in to Bobby's there after the pub, before coming back home to Huddersfield on a Friday night, and often grab some of these for the bus home (via Dewsbury). Nice to see plenty of people up there eating, and all the vendors looked to be serving food. It was 'only' Salt and Pepper Chips, but they were lovely (also had some prawn toast). Just the right amount of spice, and spring onion. Always love these. Our Son had one of the box meals and enjoyed it too. Hope this remains popular, as the town has needed some diversity in the food offerings, and these all look great. I do think there needs to be more signage directing people to The Packhorse so people know about this. Also think the Noodle place could do with a nice new sign to match the quality of the signage the other vendors have up (I kept seeing people being served their meals and will try the Noodle cafe next time!).
Finally got round to Rate My Takeaway Kitchen and... it wasn't brilliant. Mediocre food at best (Hooyah and Bobby's) with at least 3 food outlets closed. Two beers not on at the bar either. Give me Abingdon Street Market Blackpool any day!!!
2nd visit. Hardly any vendors compared to first visit which is a shame. However food was still really good and hit the spot. Hope they can get some more vendors back in
Food is amazing here, lot's of variety and seating. The takeaways all have the remote alarms to come collect your food when it's ready, which is very quick and always comes out fresh. I'd like to see a website with all current options and their opening hours / menus. Security guy walking around unfortunately did nothing to move along a pack of scruffs not eating anything and stinking of green, however this was probably a one off as we've never had issues like this before.
We called in for lunch. We used to go to Wing a Ding when they were in Horsforth and loved it so that was our first stop. We got teriyaki chicken strips and they were delicious. We also tried the Kentucky dirty fries from Hoorah burger and they were also really tasty. We got a kids chicken bites meal from Bobbies for our grandson and it was huge and came with a fruit shoot, great value for money. We were too full to try the dessert stand or any of the other stands but all looked really good. We’re going to try the noodle place next time for sure after seeing the lady on the next table get hers lol We really enjoyed our visit. It’s a great addition to Huddersfield town centre and we’ll definitely be going back soon.
