We came here on the off chance as we don’t really know Huddersfield. We decided on the £15.95 3 course set menu. The place was empty but we got there early, it’s a little dated inside but the staff are so lovely. The popadom and chutneys weren’t the best, for starters we had onion bahji which wasn’t great but the meat and aloo tiki was lovely, it’s kind of a seasoned mash potatoe deep fried both with side salads. Then for main we had lamb Nawaabi which was absolutely gorgeous and full of flavour and a chicken Achari which was very unusual, different and couldn’t work out what spice but really enjoyable. The peshwari naan was one of my faves - it had pistachios in it i think and was a perfect accompaniment, alongside the pilau rice. We were then offered tea/coffee, hot clothes and a mint chocolate. The staff are so sweet and helpful. We took a doggy bag home as couldn’t manage to eat everything.
The Food was absolutely sublime! I had a great time here! I had the lamb biryani and the flavours and the aesthetics of the food was excellent. Extremely hard workers here working their socks off to make my experience brilliant and not just mine other people too as I saw many more smiley faces. Naz, Ash and Zaara were people id like to especially mention for their great work in enhancing my pleasure and I would definitely come here again!
Decent food but customer service needs to be better. One particular male member of staff was so rude and abrupt. Kept tutting at us and throwing things around. He picked up a plate when clearing the table, dropped the knife on my leg and didn’t even apologise. No manners whatsoever. He then started stacking empty plates to take away but balanced them on a chair which had someone’s coat on it and got that dirty. Very unprofessional. Hair in the naan too. Will likely not return.
Fantastic service as always at Nawaab! Ibi and Ash always look after us so well, but the whole team can never do enough to make sure you have a 10/10 meal and experience. I’m gluten free and always feel like I have a wealth of choice on the Nawaab menu. On this visit, we ordered a ‘Create your own’ Thali and chose: Chicken Nirali, Chicken Healthy Option and Lamb Achari with our usual pilau rice. It was delicious and so flavourful. No curries ever compare for us! Thanks guys.
Had 2025 Christmas booking with the family. The place was very smoky and had a strong chemical smell like bleach. No ventilation whatsoever and most customers found it hard to breath including myself and family. The restaurant was like sitting in fog, absolutely ridiculous! All the tables and chairs were very close like they just crammed everyone in for desperation. Very dangerous... and the food was below standard and definitely overpriced. Christmas felt ruined, so we went elsewhere after. I also refused to tip because the staff told me they do not receive any tips. Avoid this place!!
