Visited here while having an outing on the train ale trail. Due to the train delays I called up to change my table time which wasn't a problem for the restaurant. When we visited it was clean, spacious, and very welcoming. The staff was attentive throughout and very helpful. The food was of a high quality, with plenty of flavour throughout all dishes. Everything was so fairly priced given the location too. I will return to eat here as soon as possible.
The best sit-down Chinese I've been to. Consistently good food and the owner is lovely. Price is very very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I drive 40 mins to get here! The chilli beef from the traditional menu is amazing. Pros: • Choose your own seat and items from the menu on a notepad - can't be wrong then! • The owner is friendly and so are the staff • All of the food we've had so far has been amazing. Large, very generous portions and steaming hot. Consistently good taste. • Always a place to sit and can accommodate slightly larger groups too. (Maybe let them know in advance?) • Food comes relatively fast as it's usually fairly quiet, but even when at peak times it's still comes quickly Cons: • Parking is a tiny bit awkward if you come from elsewhere but there are a few pay and display ones around. • Not really a con but always fairly quiet, sometimes we are the only ones there.
Nice restaurant, delicious food, lovely staff. My boyfriend loved the food here and the ordering is very easy as well. The price is alright too. My soup was a bit too spicy and too sour for my taste but otherwise was fresh and tastes authentic.
On a business trip, I was trying to find a steakhouse but could not find one in the town centre. I came across this Chinese restaurant; it was quiet as it was a Monday evening. The food was quite authentic, a pleasant surprise. The ingredients were fresh, the environment cozy, the staff friendly, and the background music was a nice touch. It was a nice evening.
This was our first experience in a Chinese restaurant and it was alright. As we weren't familiar with the menu, we decided to go for set dinner for 2 (see photos attached for both the menu and photo of food). It has started with a soup that though was tasty, it felt a bit too fat for what we are used to. While we were eating it, we got ribs brought in which cam with really tasty sauce. The ribs were normal but the sauce (as well as sauces with other food) was really tasty. For the main we had egg fried rice with selection of chicken, beef and pork. The rice was really tasty and the meats went well with it but both beef and pork were a bit fattier than we prefer. At the end we had Chinese tea which I believe was some sort of white tea. We have also ordered wine which was fairly good. In summary, if you know what you would like to eat, you shouldn't be dissapoointed but I wouldn't recommend coming in blind.
