The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is very cosy. Vegan food options are a bit limited, but the waffles are amazing. Drinks have a wide variety, from teas to coffees, catering to any mood, whether you need calm or energy. The desserts on display near the till are absolutely god-smacking delicious. They also display local artists' canvases, which we found was quite a cool way to show support and adds to the vibe.

Came in feeling a bit fed up, left feeling great. The food was amazing, that beetroot hummus is next level, and the dirty chai was spot on. The team are really friendly and efficient. Everything came out quickly. The space is airy and clean with a great vibe. It was reasonably busy when I was in but still didn't feel overcrowded. It's just a great overall experience.

I have waited nearly 8 years to visit this lovely tea house as its always very busy and popular with tourists too and I have just not had the time passing by. It has a warm ambience with comfortable luxury decore and also an upstairs. Finally I got the chance and took my friend to show her the new feature wall and decore and it was a very nice experience. They have a wide range of dishes, desserts and drinks. We ordered Avacado and poached egg toast and baked potatoe with cheese, colslaw and a Victoria sponge and the food was very generous portions and very tasty The Latte was delicious too and the service was excellent, so thankyou to all the staff at the Northern Tea House. Another great eaterie on my list and we will definitely be back for more. Highly recommend a visit !

The best breakfast I've had in an age, bar none. A pleasant, clean and welcoming place, well lit and comfortably furnished. The staff were welcoming and tolerant of our prevaricating over what to have for breakfast. We all chose brunch options - eggs benedict; sourdough with avocado; and, sourdough with beetroot; plus a side of pancakes! I had the beetroot dish - Whipped Feta & Beets. Toasted sourdough with chilled pickled beets and a poached egg was an unexpected winner - the warmth of the bread with the flavour and chill of the beets, combined with the whipped feta, were a sensation. Sense of taste, texture and temperature running riot in my mouth with every bite. I had a large black Americano to wash it down - a flavoursome coffee - and felt genuine disappointment as I savoured the final mouthful of beets and bread, Great breakfast venue, thoroughly recommended.
