Very unhappy with the service received today 1.1.2025. Total lack of interest or understanding by the phone operator. They decided to cancel an 85yr olds card so couldnt purchase his shopping, they did this without warning due to what they said was suspicious activity on his account they have since unlocked the card after their error but now he cant access online banking. My father is very ill at the moment as well as housebound and they ask he come into the bank to sort something out which wasnt our fault in the first place!!!!

What I witnessed today in the Huddersfield branch was the worst treatment I have ever seen a person subjected to. My Carer Mrs Mcfadden had purchased a pair of boots for me and they split after wearing them just twice, I lost the receipt, I have a head injury, and she tried to claim her money back. They asked for proof of purchase so she tried to access her account on line in the shop. There was something wrong with your website so she was unable. I went with her to the branch to acquire proof of purchase but Nicky refused to help her. He just said he couldn't. We sat in the branch for nearly an hour trying to gain internet access. She asked if he would bring up her transactions so she could photo the page but he said no. She then rang head office who asked why they would not help and asked to speak to them on the phone. The woman cashier refused to take her phone stating due to COVID but half an hour earlier had dispensed her cash which required her signing a piece of paper and handing it back but never mentioned COVID on that occasion. They watched her struggle and become distressed, she was in tears and they still refused to do anything. The hour we were in there struggling I witnessed how helpful, kind and cooperative they were with all customers speaking with a Yorkshire accent but discriminated against Mrs Mcfadden because she has a Liverpool accent. She has been chronically ill and housebound for 2 years and today was the first time she had been into town. The experience devastated her and she will never go in your bank again. She was treated like a leper and humiliated in the most appalling manner. We went into Barclays bank and Yorkshire building society after this who both stated they would have given her a printout of the transaction to help her in this situation. Why did your staff treat her in this appalling manner. It has destroyed her confidence and caused her harm. She does not have twitter or Facebook so cannot contact you this way.

There aren't too many banks open these days, and internet banking is limited. It's good, therefore, that despite being a small Huddersfield branch, I've found that it can resolve almost all my banking issues. We'll done Coop Bank.
