Chose to go with a Kia CEED GT after talking to Becky at Kia on a walk in. Becky was lovely and not your average ‘car salesman’ at all. Both I and my parents were so happy we bumped into her on the way in after going to another dealership and leaving without a decision. We didn’t feel pushed into a decision at all or upselled and the whole process from viewing to picking up was quick and easy. Very important as I needed a car to get back to work as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend this dealership if you’re looking for a new car and with a 7 year warranty I’m very happy I won’t have to do that again for a while.
Absolutely horrendous experience buying a new MG ZS EV Long Range from Perrys Huddersfield. It’s my first time buying a new car and I wanted to make sure I bought from a well known, reputable dealership, especially as I was spending such a large sum of money. The car was delivered to me damaged and absolutely filthy, it wasn’t a new car at all (photos attached) I spoke to someone and they basically told me to sort it out myself and they would give me £300 towards it! The damage was probably in the thousands to sort as it would need a respray. I asked if I could return it, and they lied to me and told me I couldn’t. It was also bad timing as I was due to go on holiday for 3 weeks the next day so I had limited time to research my rights etc. I also live a few hundred miles away from this dealership. They then tried to arrange for it to be fixed at another garage, but this would have invalidated its warranty, as it needed to be fixed by an approved MG dealership. It took an independent party to realise this, luckily before the work was done. I then realised the battery range was not as advertised. The car was registered in April 2025, but it was manufactured in May 2023. No-one could explain this discrepancy. This is an issue as electric cars, specifically the battery, shouldn’t be left sat with a full, or discharged battery for long periods of time. I bought the car for my commute (70 miles there, 70 miles back, 140 total, all motorway). I was assured the MG ZS EV LONG RANGE, would be more than capable of this on a single charge. The car just about does the journey, if I stick at around 65 mph, and this is in the summer. So the real range is about 160/170 miles. It should be around 200/210 on the motorway. WLTP or advertised range is 273 miles. I have been trying to return the car for a refund for months and Perrys refuse to take it back. I took the car to an approved MG Perrys to get the damage fixed (at their expense, but also mine as I had to take 3 days off work in total to get it all sorted) and told them to keep hold of the car for as long as possible to investigate the battery issue. They didn’t. They just fixed the damage and gave it back. I’m covered under the Consumer Rights Act for multiple reasons. The car wasn’t as advertised, it arrived damaged, it isn’t fit for purpose, I gave them a chance to fix/investigate the issues and they didn’t, AND I had 30 days to reject the car but was misinformed and blocked from doing so. Perrys are currently ignoring all correspondence from me and the case has gone to the Ombudsman. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this dealership and Perrys in general. If something goes wrong with your car, then you will not receive the help and protection you would expect from this company. They are completely unprofessional in every way. So in summary I was sold a new car that had been sat somewhere for a year or so, damaged and filthy. I was mislead about my rights which prevented me from returning it within 30 days. Then other issues appeared with regard to the battery and recently various warnings popping up on the dashboard. Perrys have ignored all my requests to return the car and get a refund. Which I am still legally entitled to. My advice to anyone reading this is to avoid buying a car from Perrys, and specifically Perrys Huddersfield. *posting here as the same people who I have dealt with John (since left the company) Albert and Brett, work between both Kia and MG
Ruth was great! Informative, helpful, funny. Would highly recommend! Made my experience much easier and happier. 17/12 - dropped my Proceed off for its MOT with Kayleigh and provded a courtesy car that was booked, as always phenomenol service, a smile, informative, couldn't ask for more. Collected the car from Rachel, went through the paperwork with me, super happy with the car, the business and the service staff are 11/10!!
Only arranged for a test drive on EV3 but Greg and manager Albert worked out such a great trade in deal on my 2 Suzuki cars, that I ended up ordering a new EV3 GT line in pistachio collection in a few weeks! Great guys to deal with never felt pressured. Would recommend the dealership if you're in the market for an EV.
We got a PCP vehicle from Perrys and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Shaun looked after us and provided outstanding, professional service throughout the whole process. He made everything easy and stress-free, and we also secured a great deal. I would highly recommend Shaun and Perrys to anyone looking to buy a car we will definitely return in the future.
