The Grange Medical Practice

Having recently moved to Huddersfield I am delighted to have been able to get registered at this delightful medical practice. I have visited the surgery in person a few times. The reception area is fairly spacious, tastefully decorated and well ventilated with lots of daylight. The seating areas are fairly comfortable and all the consulting rooms are properly sign posted and easy for everyone to find when necessary. The patients check in and calling system looks rather posh and hi-tech! The reception area is open and easy to talk to staff face to face. The staff at the reception are wonderful and very keen to help. I found them polite and welcoming and helpful. Any issues raised were resolved almost then and there. I also had the privilege meeting with three members your nursing team. They appeared very courteous, well trained and easy to talk to. I feel immense pleasure in expressing my experience of this medical practice and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone from my family and friends alike. I rarely have appointments nowadays. It appears to have improved over the last few years. The GP I saw was friendly however I think Doctors in general don't explore symptoms enough, often giving a diagnosis immediately. There is a high reception staff turnover which feels as though the place is not the best to work for. Since Dr Anderson left it's never been the same. He was a fabulous GP. Other people at different surgeries report thorough exploration of issues unlike this one.

This has been my clinic for 15 years, and I've never really had a major problem getting an appointment for myself or my children. The ladies at the front desk are as helpful as they can be, very polite. It's not always easy to find a reliable doctor. But in August, a miracle happened, and I finally found my doctor. In August of last year, my knee problems resurfaced. Luckily, I was given an appointment with Dr. Ilyas Ahmad, a very kind, patient, and helpful man. A doctor with a true vocation who truly cares for people. Even if I have to wait four weeks for an appointment with him, it's worth it because I know I'll get help. Thanks to him, my knee problems after five years may finally be over. We need more doctors like Dr. Ilyas Ahmad.

This past year The Grange has really got the act together and improved. They were slow off the mark, but stepped up in the end and managed to get me the help I needed and have life saving surgery. They have been great since my op and helped me out with lots of advice, fit note, medication and pain relief very promptly. Changes they have made recently really seem to be working well for patients, in my opinion anyway.

The staff were excellent- including your new receptionist who had a lovely manner. I did receive a text confirming my appointment, but the addition of the purpose of the appointment would be useful. However, overall, services appear to be improving. Thank you!
