AUTO ELECTRICAL LAB

I brought my Seat Leon 18 plate to Auto Electrical Lab back in March 2025 for serious engine issues. After months of back-and-forth, wasted journeys, and repeated assurances from Shahid (the owner, not a mechanic), I was charged £1,860 on 20 June 2025 for an engine + turbo replacement and service. Despite this, the car remained in limp mode, throwing up the same turbo underboost faults (P029900) and glow plug warnings. Shahid promised it would be sorted “once and for all” but never delivered. Worse still, when I asked for a mechanic’s report, he refused—telling me to write it up myself and he’d sign it, which is highly unethical. In the end, it only took a single turbo replacement from a different garage to fix everything they failed to resolve in 5 months. ⚠️ Avoid if you value your time, money, or peace of mind. Their lack of accountability, mechanical knowledge, and basic customer care cost me dearly. 🚩 Be wary of Shahid’s false promises. Two others I know personally had near-identical experiences with this garage.

⚠️⚠️⛔️ I only gave 1 star as it wouldnt let me post the review if not...I would give them a massive minus! I took my car down to these cowboys because the heating and indicator stopped working...charged me £145 to replace a fan and switch. I drove 10 mins and it blew again. Didn't give me a receipt or itemised list of what they did. Took the car back down and they said it would be £280+ and they needed to now remove the dash board do a full rewire as the wiring was damaged and was aparantly the reason the fan and indicators kept blowing and it would be a 2 day job. I left the car Tuesday morning, i rang everyday and they said it would be ready tommorrow, tommorrow. They never once rang me even though he said he would everytime i called, on one day alone i had to call them 11 times just to get an answer as they told me I could set off for the car later that day so i called to check in advance...glad i did as it wasnt ready yet again. This went on for 7 days he even gave me times to set off to collect the car as ot was done and then said oh no sorry it will be tommorrow AGAIN. I then went back down on the 7th day and demanded my keys back to which he just said 'oh im sorry, i couldnt get a loom or other parts to fix the car its very hard to get them' its not exactly a ferrari...This 'loom' was never mentioned in the first place. The car was literally in the same spot i parked it in, on the road it had not moved or been into the actual garage. I then took it to a brilliant mechanic in Lindley who had the car for 2 hours and said it was a simple issue with the relay...£110 and 24hours later i had the car back, i was informed some other wires had been unplugged which could have resulted in further issues with the car in future so not only did they mess about and try rip me off they also potentially put me and other using the car in danger all for financial gain....These guys are a total scam and rip off!!! DISGUSTING! DO NOT take your car here they are dangerous, can't wait for trading standards to come knocking!!! ⛔️⚠️⚠️

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. I went in for a full service and to get my horn replaced, having previously been to other garages that charged an arm and a leg. The people at Auto Electrical Labs didn’t just go above and beyond with their friendliness they also gave me an incredible price. Not only that, but they had everything done in under 2 hours! If you want a genuine garage where you don’t get ripped off, with the friendliest people and top-notch customer service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back here for anything to do with my car. Quick tip: While your car is being repaired, you can walk 2 minutes up the road to Costa Coffee and relax or crack on with some work while your car is in good hands with the lovely team at Auto Electrical Labs. A coffee and an amazing priced repair, what more can you ask for?
