Writing this while in the horrible, disgusting place. Worst hospital I've ever been to. Their professionalism is none existent and their tetchy arrogance beggars belief. I've had cauda equina and suffering nerve compression. The last thing I should be doing is sitting putting pressure on the nerves if something is wrong. Three times they've attempted to force my into a chair despite that being dangerous and when you refuse, worried about your safety they do not like it. I'm raising a complaint today about this dump. The new A and E department is a joke. It's been designed and built too small so that every time a stretcher needs to be moved, staff have to move sharps bins and their office chairs out of the way and stop working at computers to get people in and out. The staff are clearly frustrated about working in such conditions and you hear comments and people apologizing constantly.
Had a appointment today for endoscopy due to loss of blood internally suspected, fasted all day made arrangements to travel from brighouse n get brought home. Did without medication I needed today, gets called in to this very rude patronising nurse arrogant, asking me questions got to having some1 at home with me over night so no problem been arranged, so had a ambulance take me n bring me home n I would of been home for half 5 n my daughter would be at mine for 6 o'clock, so despite desperate to have this test as very important to me because of half n hour they refuse to give me light sedation n do the test was very rude, n sent me home without anything disgusting behaviour n very bad service!!! I'd been in the pain clinic a few month before to have a load of needles in my back be in the same boat at halifax hospital needing some with me etc n was aloud out of the door fine no problem when asked this today at Huddersfield nurse laughed at me like I was lieing.. I needed this test today could be very ill, even ambulance driver said Iv done nothing wrong n she was been stupid!!! Iv got respect for the nurses n docters etc at hospitals but this nurse Marie I think endoscopy unit what a stupid rude women very bad service...
Been for appointment today. Been to this hospital on and off for many years now for various different reasons. Each visit over the years the hospital has been clean every member of staff excellent quality of care has always been excellent. The parking i would arrive in plenty of time this has been my only difficulty. The overall experience from the hospital has been of high standard.
Some nurses and doctors at the A&E should learn some common sense. Came in with fever and horrible skin condition, swollen face and hard time walking. They want to rush sending me home after almost 24hrs at A&E because a medication thats arriving, but don't care that I can't walk properly, live alone and have noone near me to help me. They really leaning towards the medical negligence side. (Edit, have raised a formal complaint about the treatment)
My granddad got admitted into Ward 8 originally, then got moved to Ward 20 on the third floor which is a dementia ward so it was an extremely noisy ward etc day staff was rude and left his care in our hands, on the other hand the night staff was amazing, brought a bed and asked if we needed drinks. My granddad passed away on the 5th of this month, when we came into the ward nurses were on their computers while my granddad was left, not breathing, deceased with the curtains fully open; no respect for his dignity. Only thing saving this review was the night staff.
