I've been banking with Halifax for quite a long time and I've never had this issue before. On the 29th of January, I went to put a bank deposit into my account. I had £2100. The bank was quite busy when I arrived and when I got to the counter, I asked if I could put a deposit of £2100. As it was quite busy, she pointed me out to the self service machines. I asked her if it would accept the large amount of money and she assured me it would work with 50 notes at a time. I then went to the machine and inserted my card and separated my cash into three different piles - £1000, £1000 and the last £100. I then put in the first £1000 and after about 30 seconds, the machine told me the transaction was cancelled. It gave me my card back, however it only gave me £480. I asked someone to help me as I was confused as to where the rest of money went, and she told me to leave my number and they would sort it out the next day. I told her I wanted to sort it out right then as I didn't want to leave such a large amount of money being left over. She then called a manager over, who seemed quite rude, and they opened the machine in front of me and said there was nothing left in the machine, but obviously there had to be as I had just put in £1000. I was getting frustrated and they called security and asked me to leave and threatened to send me a discipline letter. I then left my phone number and put the rest of my money in my account at the counter whixh was £1580. I then left the premises. I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service, as I felt judged and made me seem like a villian and I suffered a great financial loss. £520 is a lot to me, so I'm very disappointed with this. They said that they will raise a compmaint . They called me on the 30th of January and said that they had checked the machine again but they couldn't find any money. They said they will raise a complaint if I'm not happy. However, the cameras and the woman who helped at first saw me put the cash in the machine. The woman who helped me called me and made me feel as though I was lying, but why would I lie? I'm extremely dissatisfied and desperate I want everyone to know please please don't use those self service machines for deposit any money just simply refuse and go to cashier

Very poor customer service today.I have been getting regular messages about changing my ISA I do on line banking but reluctantly, whilst in town I popped in early in the morning about 2 people were in only to be told to do it online and if I had my device with me someone could show me ,I didn’t but asked why if someone could show me what to do with my device how come no one was available to deal with me personally. I was given a card with a number on and told to ring the team who would talk me through it.I have worked with customers for over 40 years and always believed they came first clearly not at Halifax.

Have never had so many problems and such a run-around than with Halifax over absolutely nothing. Held my money hostage, failed to log calls, failed to read notes, made me wait on phone for ages, endless spiel about fraud prevention over and over , spoken to rudely, Lloyds and Halifax are the worst banking experience you could ever have.

Very poor service at this branch. People wandering around with laptops sending you to wait in a queue to be seen then have to queue again because they can't process paying a bill as well as dealing with your query. Absoloutely farcical.

Stood in Queue oitside and man in suit came out and asked me what I wanted. I explained that I have to come to branch to.enquire about opening a isa as I couldnt do it online or by phone. He just said to me " Youll be lucky" which I thought was extremley rude. Two other staff where very polite there was no need for the suited man to interfere. He passed me onto the lovely lady outside and dissapared back inside. I really hope he wasnt the branch manager as he was extremley rude. Really poor Halifax employess this individual.
