I cannot thank Vets4Pets and especially Irina Jakovleva enough for saving my dog’s life. After being told by the PDSA that my only option was to put her to sleep due to a wound and infection, I felt completely heartbroken. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion with Irina, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Irina reassured us that putting her down wasn’t necessary and helped us with the right treatment plan. Thanks to her care, dedication, and expertise, the wound has now fully closed and my dog is back to her happy, lively self again. I’m beyond grateful to Irina and the whole team – you gave us more precious time together and gave my dog the chance she truly deserved. I would 100% recommend Vets4Pets to anyone who wants vets that genuinely care and go the extra mile for your pets. Photo of how happy meila now is
Firstly I would like to start with my dog Chase absolutely hates the vets to the point we have to have him muzzled and pushed into a corner with a towel on his head not a fun experience for any of us! But today I saw a student nurse (name has gone) who gave chase his yearly booster not only did she previously ready his notes and understand he was a nervous dog we came up with a plan that was a little less traumatic for us all she was very calm which put Chase at ease too hands down the best vet visit we have had and I would like to add he is a German shepherd so not the smallest of dogs to be able to handle. You’re going to make a great vet when you graduate! Thank you so much!
Irina looked after Frankie when he was very poorly, she gave us all the information we needed to make an informed choice on his care. Ultimately we had to have him put to sleep to avoid suffering. I can not rate Irina highly enough: in times like those, you need the facts and the time to make a decision. We were not rushed, we were supported, and we left, sadly without our boy, but knowing we had done the best thing in the circumstances. Thank you for your help.
Called the practice out of hours as my dog was in a cluster seizure and couldn’t gain consciousness for more than a few seconds, and after a few hours of the vets trying to stabilise her, we were told that she would have to be euthanised as she wasn’t responding to a large amount of medication. Though I appreciate the effort of the vets, what I do not appreciate is having two of the vet nurses stood WATCHING us grieve and say goodbye, not only that but I also didn’t appreciate the vet nurses on their mobile phones or trying to get their coats on so they could leave. Not even two seconds after she passed we were asked would we like to put her in the car and pay or pay and then take her out to the car. Two seconds after she passed and all they cared about was the hefty bill they’ve given me. Not only that, all of the shutters to the building were down before we even started the car to leave. Though I appreciate the effort of the vets, I do think the staff could do with some sensitivity training because the way we were treated made the whole experience so much worse than it already turned out to be.
This is an experience from a few years ago now with my cat Mika and it was horrible but at the time I wasn't sure if something was wrong, after seeing two other pets be euthanized since and speaking to those vets I know it was. They where very quick to say they didn't know what was wrong with him, where other vets have tried very hard to find the issues with my other pets and given them more time. However, the worst was the euthanisa process, our cat made a horrific face of pain and a sound I do not like to think about which was truly horrifying in his last moment. None of my other pets have done this and I have since concluded after speaking with other vets that this vet had not got his vain correct and didn't even realise. This is true incompetence for an animal in it's last moments, avoid this vet if you want your pet to pass peacefully.
