Visited the store today to buy some bricks. The staff in the store and in the yard were friendly, polite and helpful. I would recommend this branch of Jewsons.

Bought on line aggregate and cement ect, for laying new patio after having decking removed. Delivery as requested since then mu husband and I have been and purchased limestone in the shop. Excellent service staff were very helpful and chatty. We would highly recommend this branch.

Purchased 60 sheets of plasterboard from this branch, received 59 and 10 of which were damaged. Didn't check properly when delivered as the driver assured any issues can be dealt with the office. After taking the wrapping of the pallet 5min after the delivery, found the damage and called the office with photographic evidence. Instead of the apology and appropriate resolution, been told should have checked on the spot and accused of causing the damage myselft by the crafty branch manager. Reported them to the headoffice and the trading standards. Everyone please make sure you carry out appropriate check when receiving delivery and don't let the driver go until you are happy with your goods. 14.05.2020 Review Update: Today I was contacted by the Jewson area manager Chris, who dealt with my complaint in a matter of minutes with highest level of professionalism. The dispute was resolved in my favour, as it should have been in the first place by the branch. I took one star away because branch manager never apologised for the accusations towards me.

Diabolical service from the hire centre. Trailed 10 miles on a saturday morning to hire a whacker machine. Arrived at the service desk to be completely ignored by all the staff for 15 mins. 6 staff were clearly visible non of them were serving any customers they were all just chatting in small groups. Eventually I was served by chris. He explained that because Driffield branch "had not booked it out right" he would have to book it out manually. Got it home and it wasnt working correctly. Was told that if i was not happy with it they could exchange it for one which belongs to another branch. Initially we decided to trail back the 10 miles to exchange it. But then decided to give the machine one last try. With a lot of messing about we managed to get it going although it was coughing and spluttering. After 7 minutes of use it packed in again. So we once again decided to return it. We rang to say we were on our way. Barely made it back before they closed at 12pm. Once again completely ignored by the staff for at least 8 - 10 minutes while various members of staff wondered around aimlessly or chatted about their holidays. Again no one was serving any customers and at no point did any member of staff acknowledge us or greet us. Finally a new previously unseen member of staff asked if he could help. We explained that we had come to exchange the whacker and various members of staff shouted for chris who had been sat in the back the whole time that we were waiting. He then told us that the gates to the back had been locked? Even though he knew we were on our way. He asked mme if it mattered what size of machine we were given. After agreeing that we didnt mind we were asked if if we knew how to test the machines as he didnt want us to get back home and find that this one didnt work either! At this point I lost the plot and just asked for a refund. I then asked for the name and number of the area manager - this was refused. I was offered the number of the branch manager but i declined that offer. I then asked for the address of head office. After waiting 10 mins while the rest of the staff were saying goodbye and turning lights off we gave up! Went to the van, dumped the machine in the middle of the shop and drove off only to be chased by chris who had finally managed to write the head office address down....pathetic and unprofessional! If you have a job to do and need to hire some equipment and have hours of free time and lots of petrol to waste this is a great place to start.
