A very welcome addition to the city centre, fantastic North Star coffee, friendly and efficient service and a really fantastic menu that leaves you making a difficult decision, I suspect they're all good ones though. We opted for the Muhammara Eggs with added haloumi and the soup of the day (potato & leek) with a cheese toastie on the side, both were flavourful and hearty but the eggs added an extra level of decadence, not one drop of that sauce remained thanks to the warm bread it comes with. There was a slight mishap with some flying milk from the counter but they handled this brilliantly with fast blue roll and a couple of unexpected cakes they really didn't have to win us over with (they were great). The interior suffers like Mrs Atha's always did, it's too small to deal with the well deserved popularity and the acoustics aren't great so it can feel quite overwhelming if you're sensitive to noise, all this is soon forgotten once you get your food or drinks though :) Hopefully summer will see them able to expand the outside space a little but if you get a chance to visit and can wait for a table it's well worth it.
So happy to see House of Koko open a new spot in the city centre! The cafe looks really good, and they’ve kept the same quality of food, super lovely staff and great atmosphere. My favourite dish out of the ones we tried was the Lebanese hash - would definitely recommend it.
Absolutely spoilt for choice, the food is amazing. Best brunch in Leeds hands down. We had the muhammara eggs, cauliflower hummus and the steak and eggs. Couldn’t even pick a favourite as they were all unreal. The staff are amazing, super attentive and friendly, and the coffee was banging.
Popped into House of Koko and it did not disappoint! The steak and eggs were unreal — cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The owner was super friendly and made me feel really welcome. Perfect breakfast spot — can’t wait to go back!
