We decided to go to this place and was able to book online for a group of 8 that early afternoon. When we arrived the place is absolutely magnificent with decor and ambience as soon as you walk in. It on the side of the canal and during the day I am sure the area looks lovely. The place was already busy but was seated soon as. We all ordered different starters and mains with rice, nan and drinks. The food was pretty good and everyone loved it. The waiters were attentive and friendly throughout. We had a fabulous experience at Mumtaz. I would say to check your chairs and tables as some were wobbly for safety.
Haven't been in many years, so thought we'd give it a go for the sake of nostalgia. However, I should have left the memories in the past. Took the family and foolishly went for the new luxury buffet option. Terrible mistake. Now, I hate leaving bad reviews, as every business can have an off day, but for what we paid, the 'All you can eat' turned into 'lucky if you eat'. The buffet was offered as order any 3 starters and 3 mains, so you'd assume you was getting fresh of the menu style. Boy was I wrong, it was worse than any wedding food I could remember. We barely ate what was served to us, so can't say how the buffet thing works. Luckily we got fresh naan and some chana chaat which we filled up in with the complimentary sauces. Mumtaz used to be a name associated with great tasting food and quality. And now, I'll probably heave a little anytime I hear that name. 🤢🤮 Service was good, but they forgot things from our order and didn't replace certaint things on the table when taken away. But genuinely nice staff.
First time here. The building is beautiful and the staff have been really friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. I took a chance on a medium spice biryani, a bit worried it was going to blow my head off. It was spot on. The naans are huge and the food is filling. Would highly recommend. Payel served us and was fantastic. Thank you Payel.
We have been to Mumtaz multiple times in the past. A beautiful place along Leeds Dock. Great ambiance and plenty of seating area. There has been a long gap that we didn’t visit, this week we visited Mumtaz Leeds twice! Their food is very tasty. We ordered Mumtaz Masala Fish which was okay but we loved their lamb Karahi and butter chicken. Chicken boti, lamb chops and seekh kebab were authentic in taste with a blend of proper spices. Went again today with family ordered Lamb Karahi again, plus we ordered Mugaz which was exceptionally delicious. We also ordered chicken boti, seekh kebab and biyani. Biryani was okay. And obviously our order wouldn’t be complete without Mango Lassi. Their staff is very friendly even when it was very busy, Priya and Ali are amazing, they made us feel welcomed and served us well. There is a large parking area besides the restaurant.
Me and my daughter went. Food was ok had to ask for simple things like cutlery after waiting a while . Drinls took a age to get after asking a few times. Went to the toilet to find my starter was been taken away but for the buffet there was plenty of choice a bit confussing for the ordering . shame you coudnt take away the left overs. Not sure ill be going back in a hurry but was a nice experiance.
