Riverside Day Nursery

A wonderful nursery with an excellent staff! Our daughter has been with the Riverside since she was 10 months old, and her development has been excellent. They apply a mix of Montessori and Waldorf methods, with loads of outdoor activities. We regularly receive photos and developmental updates via dedicated app. The staff is lovely and caring, our little one who’s now almost 2 absolutely loves going to her nursery! Thank you so much Hazel, you should be proud of the place you’ve created!

Lovely nursery! The staff are so dedicated and wonderful and you really get a sense of genuine care for your child. Our little boy loves going and has developed significantly since he started in September.

Our little boy has been going to Riverside Day Nursery since he was 6 months old and we couldn’t be happier with the care he is given. The nursery environment is clean, tidy, and engaging, and the children are able to mix and play together. The indoor play area is open plan with lots of different toys to play with and areas for activity; babies also have an area they can play in and explore. There are also little trips out to visit farms, the fire station, events happening in the town such as the continental market, and the children also have a lovely safe and secure play area outside. Hazel, Megan and the team do a fantastic job at looking after all the children. They update the Family app with milestones, pictures, meals eaten, which is a great way to communicate progress. They are also really supportive when there are specific needs to attend to such as allergies and medication to administer. All the staff genuinely care about the children. We would fully recommend this nursery to anyone!

Our little girl has been going to Riverside since she was 9 months old and we’re incredibly happy with the level of care she’s given. I was so unsure about which nursery to go with for our child as they’re all so very different but I’m very glad I chose Riverside. There were a few drop off tears to start with, but now she is super excited to go and play with her friends each day. She always has a huge smile on her face when I pick her up. Mentally and physically she’s come on leaps and bounds in the past few months and I’m sure the nursery encouraging free play is one of the reasons for this. The layout of the rooms is open plan and play between the older and younger kids is also encouraged. The babies do have an area split off for themselves, this is where our daughter began her time at nursery and it was nice for her as it was slightly quieter and more pre-crawl focused. Being tucked away behind the church means that the outdoor area is really quiet, the kids get to play out in all weathers as part of the play area is covered which I also feel is very important. We’re kept up to date with her day to day activities via an app and this tells me everything from what she’s eaten to how long she’s slept. We’re also treated to photos of the kids on their escapades, which are always lovely to receive. The main reason why we chose Riverside was because of the staff. They’re all brilliant with the kids and at the end of the day, that’s what is most important. I’d fully recommend Riverside.

Our daughter has attended Riverside since it opened in November 2018. She is extremely happy there, particularly enjoying all the baking they do, and trips whether to the field across the road, into town, or further afield (she's been to Hesketh Farm and Tropical World with nursery this summer). The staff are wonderful and take great care of the children. We were very happy to read the recent Ofsted report, rating the nursery Good, and highlighting only a couple of areas for improvement. Riverside uses the Famly app to keep parents updated with what is happening, and for billing. It's lovely to see photos and videos of the children having fun together. Each evening our daughter is excited to tell us all about the fun she's had that day, and I don't think you can get higher praise than that.
