We visited Quinta Bar & Restaurant as a group of four after hearing great things about its Portuguese menu and high ratings. From the moment we arrived, Diogo greeted us warmly, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. The restaurant is small but has a cosy, homely feel, perfect for good conversation. The noise levels were just right. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The menu offers good fish choices. I started with the chargrilled octopus salad from Quinta’s Favourites, which was fantastic. For my main, I had the 10oz ribeye steak served on hot granite with chips and béarnaise sauce. The sauce was exceptional, one of the best I’ve had! Serving the steak on granite was a brilliant idea, as I could control the cook exactly how I liked. For dessert, I enjoyed a pastel de nata paired with a green port and an espresso to finish. Throughout, Diogo and the staff took great care of us and made us feel welcome. I’d like to thank them for the delicious food and outstanding service. Highly recommended!

A wonderful restaurant with great service and a vibrant atmosphere. Warmly welcomed when we arrived we started our evening with some lovely rose Prosecco as we waited for our table. The menu provides a great choice and we opted for lobster ravioli and the spicy hummus for starters both were lovely and just the right portion size. For our mains we had the fish stew and the Atlantic cod which were cooked to perfection. As a fussy eater I cannot fault how accommodating the restaurant was in swapping out the Cod’s accompaniments for some sides (the cauliflower gratin was exquisite) This is a special place which we cannot recommend it highly enough if you’re visiting Ilkley

I rarely post negative reviews for restaurants as I know how challenging it can be owning a business, however I felt compelled to do so after my elderly mother’s experience. A couple of weeks ago my 72 year old mother attended for dinner with her partner and their 2 friends. The mains came out barely as they finished their starters. The lamb main course was fatty and not rendered. Half the mussels were closed and therefore inedible. They fed back to the waitress about their experience but she didn’t seem bothered, so her partner stayed back to chat to the owner - however they were made to feel dismissed and ignored. The owner seemed too focused on hosting the more VIP crowd than a table of OAP’s. In my mum’s words she was left feeling “deflated and irrelevant”. How very disappointing.

We really enjoyed our lunch. The pre starter bread was warm from the oven which was lovely. My calamari was fresh for my starter and the pasta for my main was homemade and delicious. My other half enjoyed her antipasti and gnocchi too. I especially liked the Portuguese tart for dessert. The owner was very friendly too. We'll definitely be back. The only bit of feedback we'd give is we thought the three menus could be given on one piece of paper, but that didn't detract from the food and friendly service.
