Huge thanks to Angus, the amazing manager, whose dedication, attention to detail, and hard work have truly made a difference! The store presentation, atmosphere, and customer service have improved greatly under his leadership. Thanks to Matt as well for his great efforts and contribution to making the shop a better place. Their hard work has had such a positive impact on the store. The shop has now a more enjoyable place to visit, and I look forward returning!t
Slightly claustrophobic store but reasonable prices and very nice staff, will definitely come back
As soon as my children and I walked in I heard the two cashiers talking about a little boy, probably under 5, who was picking up pens while his mum looked around. They said 'let's go over'. He was a curious child, not a thief. We had a look around. My 9 year old picked up a novelty pen to show me. After looking we left the shop. My daughter hadn't realised. She has adhd, inattentive type. We turned to see her walking towards us. She nearly reached the doorway and realised she still had the pen in her hand so she had stopped. She took it back and one of the shop workers said 'thank you for being truthful'. My daughter had not had dishonest intentions. She had no intentions! She didn't realise she was holding it because she panicked when she saw we were at the exit. I asked the lady what she had said to my daughter. She said she had thanked my daughter for being truthful because she had gone out of the shop with the pen in her hand. That was a lie. My daughter had not left the shop. She hadn't left the shop because the 3 of us were in the doorway!! The cashiers were incredibly snooty and my other daughter heard them say they have to have eyes everywhere. When representing Scope I think these two shop workers have done a pretty rubbish job. You are supposed to be about disability and equality!! I think the assistants need a refresher course in Scope's core values. Disgusting. Ruined my daughter's day out!!
Store is fun and vibrant, though it never has as many good books as Oxfam Headingley or Oxfam in general. Great for clothes, a little on the pricey side, but good items usually. Staff are... volunteers.
Maybe the staff shouldn't make comments about customers in front of other customers, we can all hear you looking down on people.
