My second stay at One Tivoli Place. My first stay was in 2023 as part of "The Dales Way" walk I completed west to east. This time I had a little break between travelling from Kent to Cumbria. So One Tivoli is my go-to place. I really like Ilkley, but this B&B makes it a wonderful experience. The rooms are lovely, and I like sitting in the common lounge area to listen to the music and read a book. Walk on the moors. The option of having a 3 course Japanese evening meal is one that I have taken up each time I have stayed. There is even a Japanese option for breakfast which I promise to have one day, but at the moment I just love the chance to have a kipper! Will be back again one day.
What a beautiful B and B and how special it is to be able to enjoy delicious Japanese food here too. The latter was actually the main reason for us choosing to stay here and it did not disappoint. I have never eaten such delicious or authentic Japanese food outside of Japan. We sampled the Japanese dinner and breakfast during our stay (also tried the English breakfast as well). Everything was excellent and we were so impressed how much is actually homemade in house - from the tofu, miso and pickles to the Japanese milk bread, croissants and pastries. I particularly enjoyed being able to eat unagidon which you just don’t come across very often in this country. The home made miso soup was also amazing. Gochiso sama deshita!! The owners, Rika and Peter show incredible attention to detail in everything they do - from the presentation of the food to the level of comfort in the beautifully appointed and immaculate en suite bedrooms. We are so glad to have visited and would return again in the future without any hesitation.
I had such an amazing time here. Really friendly and helpful hosts. Complementary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, and local chocolates on arrival. A mini bar with a selection of drinks that can be purchased (a list of prices were in the room). There was a folder in the room with all the information needed about the hotel; contact details, breakfast times, check out times, and even pages of local recommendations. Robes and slippers available in the room to use. Powerful fan useful for the summer which was very much needed but it worked really well and kept the room cool. Looked like there was extra bedding if needed and decent clothes storage space and a good hairdryer provided. The breakfast was amazing with so many home baked foods and everything had so much thought put into it; from homemade jam to local honey to homemade Japanese bread. Would stay here again, I enjoyed every minute of my stay!
We stayed here for the second time . Still the best room and breakfast ever, and that’s from two 79 yr olds who do a lot of travelling around. Also the owners are a really lovely couple. The house has easy access to to town, to Ilkley moor (and ,if you need it ,to the station).
Lovely place. Top quality. Excellent hosts. Have recommended to others. I had an excellent full English breakfast, my wife raved about the Japanese breakfast.
