The Westwood Lodge main house was absolutely ideal for getting my family together (9 adults and 4 children under 4) with large rooms and a good quantity of bathrooms. The kitchen was the perfect size for a family meal and it was very well stocked with everything we needed. The two dishwashers were *really* helpful in staying on top of the endless washing up created and the washer and dryer helped with the kids clothes. Given the size and age of the house we were very pleased that it was quite child friendly and were happy that we didn't need to watch them like hawks in fear of breaking anything, including themselves. There are some things, the arger for example, where we set a no go rule! The bedrooms were large and with en suites really balanced the demands for getting ready. Spotlessly clean and super comfortable, everyone had great nights sleep. Had to do a little adjusting of the radiator temperature as it had just turned cold on our visit, but they soon kicked in and heated up the rooms quite fast. All the bedrooms were upstairs, and with the kids raising early the size of the house made it easy for them to head to a living room downstairs and play without disturbing those of us wanting to catch a lay in! The gym in the cellar is great, big enough for 1 or two and has the essentials, plus a hot tub, sauna and sunbed. All have clear instructions. The outdoors with animal corner with the chickens, pig, and a trampoline, plus little play houses for the children were lovely additions.
Always a delightful experience here whether staying or just visiting friends. Cottages are well equipped, attractively decorated, and beautiful. Within a minute you can be on the moors, within 10 you can be in the middle of Ilkley with all its delights.
Excellent place to stay for a break in west Yorkshire. The cottages are brilliant. The facilities great and the views stunning. Almost reluctant to review it so well just to keep it a secret.
