The Stanza Stones are a series of specially carved poems by Simon Armitage (now UK Poet Laureate), set into natural rock across the Pennine landscape, including Ilkley Moor. The project was created to connect poetry with place, blending art and the natural environment in a very tactile, walkable way. They date from 2012.
Fantastic views up here. This is practically the highest elevation for the whole of Ilkley/Rombalds Moore. These Stanza stones lay approx. 300m west of the trig point across the trail.
Not sure what to make of this but adds to a walk visiting the Puddle Stones and reading the poem written by Simon Armitage There are a total of 6 poems as part of the Stanza stones and the long distance trail path
Pretty good stanzas
