Took my children to the toy museum this afternoon as my youngest is learning about old toys at school. It is a small museum however it has lots to look at. I definitely recommend visiting. Had some really interesting stories of some of the toys. I really liked Thomas the bear. Friendly and helpful staff too!

Fantastic visit for our Cub Scouts! We brought our Cub group (10th Airedale) to Ilkley Toy Museum and had a brilliant time. The collection is packed with fascinating toys from different eras β€” our Cubs loved seeing everything from Victorian dollhouses to retro robots. The staff were welcoming and great with the kids, sharing fun stories and encouraging curiosity. It was educational, hands-on, and full of surprises. Highly recommended for youth groups looking for something unique and inspiring!

I am a coach driver and took a coach full of youngsters to this museum. They had a great time and didn't want to leave. That tells you all you need to know. They were dropped off and collected at the bus Stn which is a 4 minute walk to the museum. The rail Stn is also at the same place as the bus Stn, so you could get there easily by car,bus or train.

What a lovely museum of old toys on display here; from hand crafted doll houses over 100 years old, to the predecessor to Subbuteo, Action Man, dolls from the 1800s and much more is amazing. Just to see these in the condition they're in and what children had to play with in those times is fascinating. The price of admission is well worth it and the descriptions of the displays makes you really look further into the intricacies of what's gone into making some of these toys.

Definitely worth visiting! Nice place with variety of exquisite collections, including dolls house, board games, mechanical toys and others. There are historical descriptions of their toy collections, which age more than 100 years. Really interesting and fascinating!
