My wife and I stayed here for two nights with our Labrador in December and had a wonderful time. The cosy cabin was perfect with the log burner keeping us nice and toasty, while reading by candlelight was so relaxing in such a nice environment. We spent some time exploring the nearby grounds and forests including the Druids Temple which was beautiful at this time of year. Overall highly recommend and I am sure we will be back!
Called in for a coffee after a walk with the family to the Druids Temple. Lovely reception from the guy behind the counter. It was very quiet when we visited, but I was impressed to see that the cafe is open until 8.00 PM. Very nice coffee, lovely comfortable setting. Highly recommend a visit to the Druids Temple too, but I'll do a separate post for this.
We had lovely stop for coffee and cake at stormy, rainy day when we wanted to visited 500years Druids Temple created by owner of estate. Just lovely walk in woods and peaceful and quiet when storm eased off for few minutes.
I wasn't staying over, so I can only comment on the cafe... Prices on par with similar establishments, doorstopper sandwiches, plenty of choice for quite a small place, three tier seating. I would have enjoyed my lunch far more, had I not been having to waft flies away from it, and that was sitting inside. Perhaps flyscreens and a zapper would help.
Doesn’t accept cash. Took way too long to make such a simple dish which was over priced and very average. The walk would have been lovely if there wasn’t so many people with kids and dogs screaming and just generally being a nuisance. All in all I would not come back here.
