Welcome to Yorkshire

•Anyone who's been Christmas shopping knows the feeling. The bags get heavier, the crowds get bigger, and suddenly, hunger strikes. Finding somewhere that pleases everyone can be a real mission. But just as the festive spirit starts to fade, there’s a solution. Trinity Kitchen has rolled out a fresh lineup of street food vendors, perfectly timed for the Christmas rush in Leeds. Think warming bowls of Mac & Cheese, spicy tacos, and loaded chicken nuggets. It’s the perfect pitstop to refuel and get back to the gift-buying marathon.

Back by popular demand: the crowd-pleasers
Some things are just too good not to bring back. Trinity Leeds knows this, and has welcomed back a few familiar faces to its unique food court. First up is Nelly’s Barn, a name many will remember. They are all about proper West Country street food, with a focus on high-quality ingredients. Their speciality is their famous burgers, made with 28-day, dry-aged beef that's sourced locally. Dry-ageing is just a fancy way of saying the beef has been prepared to be extra tender and flavourful. It’s topped with a generous helping of double cheddar. And for those who don’t eat meat, there’s no need to miss out. The Almighty Vegan Burger is on the menu, featuring roasted red peppers and a soya pattie with fresh salad. It's a solid choice any day of the week.
Also making a return is Big Mouth Gyoza. These aren’t your average frozen dumplings. Each Japanese gyoza is handmade and packed with flavour. Diners can choose between melt-in-the-mouth pork belly or a rich mushroom filling. But the real star of the show might just be the signature secret sauce that gets drizzled over the top. It’s so popular, in fact, that people can now buy takeaway pouches of the sauce to try and recreate the magic at home. And for a dose of pure comfort, Niko’s Comfort Kitchen is back. This vendor is all about satisfying cravings with its bundles of warm chicken nuggets and crispy tater tots. They come loaded with all sorts of flavours, from garlic butter and katsu to a spicy chipotle buffalo option. Of course, the classic original flavour is always available for the purists.
Cheesy goodness and award-winning tacos
Joining the returning favourites are some seriously tasty newcomers. It’s a Return of the Mac, a Leeds-based collaboration that knows a thing or two about comfort food. From their cool-looking Horsebox, they dish out incredibly indulgent and ultra-cheesy loaded Mac & Cheese bowls. This is the kind of food that warms a person from the inside out, making it an ideal choice for a chilly winter day during the Christmas season.
And for those craving something with a bit of a kick, the Birria Bandits are here to share their award-winning tacos. These aren't just regular tacos; they are special birria tacos, served on soft white corn tortillas. The fillings are slow-cooked to perfection. Choices include a rich, slow-braised beef brisket, juicy chicken, or a surprisingly delicious smoked cauliflower. For families with little ones, the "Lil Bandits" menu offers mini quesadillas, nachos, and tacos, so nobody has to miss out. It’s a proper meal for the whole family, found right inside Trinity Kitchen.
What's on the menu and for how long?
This fantastic lineup of street food is a temporary treat. All the new vendors will be serving their delicious dishes at Trinity Kitchen until Sunday, 25th January. That gives everyone plenty of time to work their way through the menus after a long day of hitting the shops. These pop-ups sit alongside the permanent eateries that make up the rest of the kitchen space, so there's always a huge amount of choice. Regulars include favourites like Archie's, Clapping Seoul, Pho, Pizzaluxe, Rola Wala, Thatziki, and Tortilla.
Kim Sutton, the Retail Manager at Trinity Leeds, summed it up perfectly. She said,
“Trinity Kitchen is the perfect place to pause, relax, and enjoy a delicious treat with family and friends amid the bustle of Christmas shopping. This festive season, we’ve brought together a mix of comforting classics and exciting new flavours to satisfy every tastebud. Whether you’re grabbing a quick meal, or taking a moment to soak up the atmosphere, Trinity Kitchen is the ultimate festive pitstop.”
It's more than just a kitchen at trinity
Of course, Trinity Leeds is much more than just its food court. It's a massive retail destination with over a million square feet of space for shopping, all under an iconic glass dome. With over 100 brands and more than 40 restaurants and coffee shops, it’s a place where a person could easily spend an entire day. It’s owned and operated by Landsec, a company known for creating some of the UK's best urban spaces. They are all about making places where people can connect and have a good time.
The centre, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in March 2023, is a key part of the city. Beyond the shops, it features an Everyman Cinema and impressive artworks that celebrate the city's heritage. The new street food vendors at Trinity Kitchen simply add another layer to the experience, making a trip to Trinity Leeds a full day out and a highlight of the festive season. From a quick bite of some fantastic chicken to a full-on feast of burgers and tacos, the options are endless.
