What a lovely find, if only more campsites were like this. Small, friendly, clean and functional toilets, great selection of games available and a great covered seating facility for those with less space in their units than us. Our pitch had a sign with our first names on it when we arrived as there is not a physical reception on the site. After arriving and starting to set up, we soon received a text from Ross welcoming us to the site and asking if our pitch was ok for us. I think he has some security cameras on the site and saw that we had arrived. Also we used the honesty box to buy eggs and jam, both very reasonably priced. An ice cream van also stopped in the site today (Friday 17 Oct at about 1645). Yes the standard of the toilet block is not that of the “big” sites and by that I mean the number of showers and traps (two of each in the gents), but they are perfectly functional and clean as I said before. I have no complaints and would highly recommend this small site if your coming to the area. We’ve been to Masham, Ripon, Thirsk and Northallerton so far. All of these places within half hour drive. We have another day to go, but couldn’t wait to praise Ross for his efforts on running this caravan site. We’ve paid £33.50 a night for our stay including electric hook up. Very reasonable at today’s rates. Well, I said I’ve paid £33.50 a night…….I’ve not actually paid yet, Ross didn’t want the money the first morning when I met him….”go enjoy your day and i’ll catch up to you later” he told me. Think you would get that sort of attitude at the “big” club sites?
We've recently enjoyed a few days at this lovely campsite. Everything was well thought out, facilities were great and plenty of indoor space to use if the weather is bad and you're with kids etc. A short walk out of Bedale marketplace and short drive from Masham and surrounding towns a real gem. Will absolutely return.
Ross and his wife are the very best of Yorkshire folk, diligent, available, hard working and all with humour. Dog lovers too! The site is very well kept. The showers spacious and spotlessly clean. All areas sympathetic to nature. Highly recommend and will be back. Paula, Derek & Jess
What a cracking little site this is! Ross and family have created the perfect relaxing spot to enjoy everything the local area and wider Dales have to offer. The site is immaculately clean; soft, level pitches; pretty family room with lots of space and a gorgeous activity/play room filled with books, toys and games. The facilities are brilliant and there's reams of information leaflets and activity suggestions - with the added bonus of 10% off vouchers for campsite users at Thorp Perrow. Bedale is a pretty little town full of excellent pubs for eating out, good quality takeaways for eating in and a super range of shops for buying food to cook yourself. I 100% recommend this fabulous site and will definitely stay here again. Perfection!
Beautiful site, just outside of Bedale but an easy walk back to town. Great dog walking field next to the CS site where you can let them run free. Super 'barn' area for gathering away from the elements and superb facilities that are kept very clean. You'll need ramps to get totally level but not a major issue. Loving it here so far, just need the weather to improve a little!
