We have just had a family gathering from all over. I would just like to say how lovely the food was, lovely large portions, I had the parsnip and apple soup which was to die for followed with pork Sunday lunch. oh my day’s! 🥰 food arrived fast, hot, the girls are so lovely and helpful. Fantastic value Absolutely, defiantly recommend. Thank you x
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and we had 2 chairs in the room which was welcome. Although dated it was clean and the beds were comfy. The shower cubicle in our room had a small opening so a large person would not have been able get in. Good choice of breakfast. We were disappointed with our evening meal - beef stroganoff because the beef was very tough and chewy. Had to leave most of the meat but were charged for 1 dinner and not 2. However we were really looking forward to having a meal after walking around all day. Good location.
Lovely location. Very welcoming staff. Friendly service. Food was delicious with large portions. Breakfast was delicious. Would return.
The hotel is set in central town, although only a small town. The bar and eating areas were pleasant enough. Food was ample and served in a reasonable time. The only let down was the room. Although reasonably clean the decor is very poor and dreary. Needs some colour in the room and some nice big pictures. Our room was in the old mill, and was a shame that there were no features to enhance this build only the old wooden beam in the ceiling. With a little thought could be a lovely room.
Enjoyed our 2 nights here even tho we missed the car park and had to have a tour of the village before finding it!! Definitely need bigger sign 🤣 but it was a good size. Rooms are in separate older block and quite tired looking but comfy. Walls/ceilings are thin so we could virtually join in neighbour's conversation but thankfully they were quiet at night . Meals are substantial. After breakfast 1st morning, we had to say 'only 1 egg, 1 sausage, less toast and only 2 tea bags in pot please' for 2nd morning as we couldn't finish. Also had other options with cereals, tinned fruit and yoghurt. Had meal on 1st evening and again BIG. Shared toast and path starter then he had gammon with chips and i had the chilli chicken stir fry and rice. Bit of a wait but staff were doing their best as very busy. NB last drinks order was 9.30 !!
