Haven't stayed here. Why? Rang to ask rates and to enquire about their claim to be with ACSI, and the rates for anyone a member of ACSI, which usually involves a special discount. The surly miserable individual with whom I dealt, when questioned about the ACSI rates, seemed to either know nothing or was being evasive, and simply said " the rates are on the website" and hung up. They are pricey and the ACSI claim is meaningless it seems. And if he is indicative of the quality of the service one would receive I can see no reason why anyone should go to this campsite
Very well run and maintained camp site. The owner couldn't do enough to help us. Definitely worth a return visit.
After promising to never visit a Caravan Park again, I am glad I broke it for Wombleton. Everything was spot on. Pitch size was more than big enough with short cut grass (clippings collected so they are not all over your tent/caravan floor), toilets and shower block were very clean, laundry room with fridge, freezer and microwave plus a small shop with a DVD/book library. To top it off, the people running the site couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The site was very quite (apart from the low-flying geese!) and we asked how it was at peak season to be told, not much busier. The showers, though 20p for roughly 5 minutes were rain-shower heads with spotless, mould-free curtains. If I had to pick fault, and this is dredging the barrel, the local public footpaths are few and far between and difficult to find but ask at the desk for more information on walking than you will ever need.
We rented the luxury bungalow for a few days bank holiday week it was absolutely perfect. The bungalow had loads of little extras which added to the holiday . The park was lovely and kept immaculate . It is a quiet park which was appreciated especially after such active days .The showers toilets and facilities were really clean and modern which was used by other family staying in a caravan. There is a fishing pond attached which we took the grandchildren to they caught fish and had a great couple of days. James one of the owners sorted everything out for us regarding the fishing etc and was a huge help , always smiling . The area itself is beautiful and is local to Helmsley , Pickering and other small villages with plenty of pubs with nice food . There is events on locally and if you want to travel futher Whitby and other coastal areas are available . We as a couple of families had a great time and would definately return.
Peaceful site in open countryside. Pitches a good size. We received a warm welcome. The facilities are spotless and 20p buys a long enough shower of hot water. The underfloor heating is appreciated too.
