I love an old building with history & the Lavender Rooms is exactly this. Really good coffee accompanied by a scone with jam & cream. The staircase up to the tea rooms is steep & a bit of the narrow side so maybe not suitable for the less able bodied. Staff are friendly & the menu was full of choice. I would definitely visit here again if in the area.

Feels traditional, and the value for money is unbeatable. In a nutshell, it has a historical feel, like being back in the 1600s. Seems to be family-run with super cheap prices. Everything was delicious. The only issue was the radio playing ads, which I didn't enjoy. Staff are not very friendly, but honestly, the quality, price, and atmosphere all make it worth a visit.

A truly beautiful experience at the Lavender Tea Room. The French-blend coffee was excellent, topped with foam and a heart design. The tea room itself is set in a stunning Tudor half-timber property in the heart of Knaresborough, full of charm and character. The service was impeccable — every member of staff was lovely, and the whole place had such a calming energy. It felt like stepping back to a time before the hustle and bustle of modern life. The food was delicious. I had a country-style thick back bacon sandwich served on fresh tomato bread, which was absolutely spot on. I’m already looking forward to trying more from the menu. When you visit, don’t miss the quaint shop below, filled with a wonderful variety of goodies to take home.

Lovely little tea room on the first floor of a historic building. Had a tasty cheese scone and a pot of tea and felt relaxed enough to take my time over it. The menu looked interesting with lots of choice and daily specials. Will definitely be back!

The Lavender Tea Room is a beautiful little gem, hidden above a gift shop. As you head upstairs, there are two large rooms to sit in. The staff were absolutely lovely, especially the older gentleman with white hair, he was an absolute gem. The food itself was marvelous too, the homemade beef lasagna was well priced and filling, and the side of steamed veg was perfect. I'm a bit of a voracious eater when it comes to good food and this was one of those times, I left very content. There are tons of veggie options and if your vegan, just ask and they'll likely make a custom sandwich for you! Food for all 🎉
