I have been going to MyDentist for a number of years but while the team have changed over the y3ars. The current set up is phenomenal. Every visit is greeted with a smile and a warm welcome, treatments are thorough and very professional. My latest visit was nerve wracking for me as part of a molar broke off. I wax getting very stressed but I rang and a lovely lady put me at ease and got me in to see a dentist. There was no having to come back it was fixed there and then. An old filling had come out taking a chunk of tooth with it. I hasten to add the filling in question was not done by MyDentist. A huge thank you to everyone in the clinic that saw me today. I won't name names as I am bound to miss one in good old Oscars acceptance speech fashion.
I honestly can’t thank Leslie (the dentist) and Verity (the nurse) at MyDentist Knaresborough enough. I went in absolutely terrified as I’ve always been really scared of needles and dental procedures, but they were both so kind, calm and reassuring from the very start. I needed a tooth extraction and I was expecting the worst… but to my surprise, it was completely pain-free! I didn’t feel a thing during the injection or the procedure, which was such a relief. What I thought would be a nightmare turned out to be such a positive experience. If you’re nervous about dentists like I am, I can’t recommend this team highly enough – they’ve honestly changed the way I feel about going to the dentist.
I have been seeing Georgiana for a couple of years, I am extremely anxious going to the dentist after having lots of horrible experiences over the years. After having toothache for a few days, increasingly getting worse & worse, I went to see Georgiana today & it was decided between us both I would have the tooth removed, she was so kind, patient & overall wonderful with me, my sister came to hold my hand too! I couldn’t have done it without Georgiana’s care & understanding, I actually feel quite proud of myself! Thank you so much!
"These things happen" I had a very bad experience here. The dentist was very pleasant and likeable but incompetent and the manager was not really interested when I told her what happened. I expected an apology at least but her first response was that "these things happen" which is insulting. Well I had never had anything like this happen to me before in 46 years so I will not be returning. It clearly is a practice run for profit only with no care for the patient. I had a filling replaced. The dentist first gave me too much anaesthetic so it took me 15 mins to recover sufficiently that she could start work. Then the filling was done but not smoothed off so my tongue was lacerated by a needle sharp point on the filling and it took me 2 weeks to recover from this. I paid over £300 for the service.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Update: this was not resolved, after speaking to the head office they assured me they were looking into and someone would call me back. No one ever did. The response below assumes after speaking to the practice manager it was resolved - it wasn't. The practice manager refused to apologise for anything except "sorry you paid the wrong deposit amount, it should have been more". They also asked me to put it in writing to forward to their head office only to then not actually even forward it so that was a massive waste of time too. Extremely disappointing experience at MyDentist Knaresborough. My hygienist appointment was cancelled last minute due to staff illness, and I had to reschedule. I then tried to move the new appointment again due to a migraine on my part, and was told on two separate occasions that it was “no problem” to do so. Then, just minutes before the 2nd rescheduled appointment, I was suddenly informed that I had violated a 24-hour policy and had lost my deposit — even though I’d already been told twice that rescheduling was fine. The reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive. I was hung up on, told conflicting things (including that no manager was available — only to be told later by that very manager that she had overheard my call), and they kept hiding behind vague “company policy” explanations that were never mentioned during the booking changes. I tried to resolve this calmly and even provided call logs showing I attempted to do everything properly (tried to call when they asked me to, which was before 24 hours but they were closed as it was a weekend), but was met with no flexibility or understanding. A really poor way to treat patients — especially when the mistakes made were entirely on their end. I now know my rescheduled appointments were outside the terms of their 24 hour period but why let me move them twice and then call back days later? The worst part is there's not been a single apology. Avoid this place if you want reliable service or respectful communication.
