Windsor Court Properties

As a landlord, I’ve had a genuinely excellent experience with Windsor Court Properties in Knaresborough. They’ve been consistently helpful, professional and easy to deal with, handling everything efficiently and taking a lot of the stress out of the process. Communication has been clear and timely, issues are dealt with promptly, and they’ve always been proactive rather than reactive. It’s refreshing to work with an agency that actually does what they say they will and makes life straightforward. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Windsor Court Properties to other landlords looking for a reliable, well organised letting agent.

My husband and I recently purchased a property which was on the market with Windsor Court. It was a slightly unusual case where the property was marketed to let first, which we completely fell in love with and were very keen to buy. Jemma and Peter were very professional and understanding throughout the process, keeping excellent communication and staying true to their word that we would be the first people to see the property. They made the buying process very smooth for us, as we were also selling our house simultaneously. We would highly recommend them!

I very rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Windsor Court was so poor that I feel compelled to warn others. From start to finish, their service was well below an acceptable standard and made renting out my property unnecessarily stressful. The listing photos were taken on a mobile phone rather than by a professional photographer, or even with a decent camera. Several viewings were arranged, but after an early viewing resulted in an offer, Windsor Court cancelled all remaining viewings without consulting me. This decision should have been mine and is a clear example of them choosing the least amount of work rather than the correct course of action. The tenants kept the property in an awful state. When I raised this, I was told “there isn’t much we can do unless they’ve actually broken something, all we can do is try to go after the deposit when they leave” this is an unacceptable attitude for a letting agent paid to manage a property. When another estate agent later visited to value the property, a member of Windsor Court’s staff commented “oh god, not that house” when handing over the keys, showing a complete lack of professionalism and respect. At the end of the tenancy, my deposit claim went to tribunal. Despite the tenants having broken or lost items, I was not awarded as much as I reasonably expected because there was insufficient photographic evidence in the inventory completed by Windsor Court. This directly reflects poor inventory standards and left me financially exposed. Communication throughout was extremely poor. I frequently had to chase repeatedly for responses. Windsor Court’s incompetence, lack of professionalism and laziness caused me unnecessary stress and financial loss. I strongly recommend that people do not use this company.

Me and my wife bought a property marketed by Windsor Court. They're an absolutely fantastic estate agent - the best we've ever interacted with. Jemma was warm, knowledgeable and highly professional. She acted quickly when we expressed our intention to buy and was always prompt, attentive and helpful when responding to queries. She was brilliant throughout the process. We didn't encounter any pressure tactics (or pressure to use in-house mortgage or insurance services), unlike other estate agents. We were especially grateful for this. We've got nothing but positive things to say about Jemma and Windsor Court. Navigating the house buying process, especially as first time buyers, is overwhelming and often frustrating, but we had zero stress on the estate agent side. Peter and Jemma went above and beyond to make sure the flat was ready for me to move into with zero hassle and maximum comfort. Best experience I've had renting so far, can't recommend them enough 😊
